The Field Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring quick resolution of complex customers challenges and empowering team members with their functional knowledge. Working across all levels of the business, you will play a key role in contributing to the growth of overall business beyond service as well. This will require collaborating with team members at the point of impact and across the organization. Identify and implement opportunities to improve, while also operating as a change agent to ensure processes and standard work are being sustained and effective. This position reports to the Iberia Service Manager and is part of the Iberia Service Team. The FSE will be based in Madrid , however the role will be fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: * Delight customers through timely and competent response to their needs, coupled with clear communication & Collaborate closely with the Service Team to ensure all customers in the region are provided a professional after-sales service. * Support Sales Representatives in activities such as installations and demo/exhibitions. Conducts service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. * Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory. Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system. * Help our organization grow by high quality support of our existing customers and by helping us identify new customers and opportunities during your time in the field The essential requirements of the job include: • Bachelor’s Engineer Degree Required or similar, • Fluent in English and Spanish, • Excellent Microsoft Office application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), • Strong communication skills, • Ability to travel within the Spain Central Region and eventually to the rest of Regions in Iberia. (Up to 70% travel). Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift, move or carry equipment & tools. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Handling repairs, calibrations, upgrades and allied tasks. Networking, influencing, and communicating effectively across functions and at all levels. Excellent visual, written, and other communication skills. Training and/or coaching experience. Experience in maintaining, applying global processes. Track record of delivering standardization, simplification and continuous improvement across key business areas. Job Description: At Airbus UpNext, we fly future technologies at speeds well beyond what seems feasible today. We're looking for passionate individuals to join a new demonstrator project that is shaping the future of sustainable aviation by advancing the aircraft electrification roadmap. This project will focus on the challenges and opportunities of High Voltage Electrical Systems , which are essential for next-generation, low-emission aircraft part of Airbus ambition to electrify the skies. As part of a fast-paced, agile team, you will help create a unique, state-of-the-art test facility from the ground up. Your mission will be to explore novel HV technologies at their limits and beyond, generating invaluable data and learnings needed to build the robust and reliable aircraft of tomorrow by safely testing the unsafe. Your mission is to plan and execute the campaigns that will "safely explore the unsafe", validating non-propagation strategies and characterizing failure modes. You will define WHAT we test and HOW we test it. You hold the pen for the High Level Verification and Validation Objectives and steer the daily test operations during the demonstration phase. Your Main Responsibilities: * Test Strategy & Planning: Define the Verification & Validation strategy. Translate Top Project Objectives into concrete Test Needs, Test Plans and Test Procedures. Cascade and clarify accepted test needs to the E2E Bench Manager ensuring the solution proposed fulfills required functionalities. * Test Campaign Execution: Lead and steer the demonstration phase managing the execution of complex tests including HV non-propagation, electrical failure modes and altitude emulation, ensuring on time full coverage for the time slot given. * Test bench configuration control: Assure and track an agile test bench configuration in order to support test campaigns and data analysis. * Test bench issues: Manage and clear potential test bench issues to support full availability of test bench and non-stop activities during the demonstration phase. * Operational Leadership: Steer daily test operations, acting as the Test Director during potentially destructive and hazardous tests. You will coordinate the test team, ensure safety protocols are followed and make real-time GO / NOGO decisions. * Analysis & Handover : Manage the analysis of test data to extract key learnings (e.g: barrier effectiveness, protection selectivity) and prepare the data packages and test reports for the final project conclusions. * Risks & Opportunities : Identify and analyze risks & opportunities affecting E2E demonstration phase, implementing corrective and preventive actions agreed within stop/go reviews. The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important. * Your boarding pass * What you bring: * Master Degree in Aeronautics, Electrical Engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience in Lab / Flight / Ground Test Operations. System Verification & Validation for Electrical Systems within the Aerospace or Automotive Industry. * Methodology: Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering (V-cycle), Test Plan definition, execution and steering. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and synthesis capability. * Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of electrical phenomena (arc flash, power quality, etc...) and experience testing under failure conditions. * Leadership: Experience leading test teams in high-paced, high-pressure environments where the wrong decision in real time can lead to the end of the test campaign. * Language: English at negotiation level. Spanish would be an advantage since it is valued for managing local interfaces and regulations. * Eagerness to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working. Impatience and burning desire to attain rapidly, along with a healthy skepticism for progress. Ability to cope with short deadlines. * Values of transparency, humility & empathy.
