Our client is a leading high-technology organization specializing in advanced compound semiconductor and photonic device development. The company delivers end-to-end solutions for next-generation optoelectronic and electronic systems, serving applications including high-speed communications, sensing, integrated photonics, and power/RF electronics. With vertically integrated capabilities spanning materials growth, device fabrication, testing, and process industrialization, the organization is at the forefront of innovation in III-V semiconductor platforms, including Indium Phosphide (In P) and Gallium Nitride (Ga N). Role Mission The Project Manager – III-V Technology will lead complex, cross-functional programs focused on the development, optimization, and industrialization of products and systems based on In P, Ga N, and related compound semiconductor technologies. This role combines deep technical expertise with disciplined project leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of technology roadmaps. The Project Manager will align R& D, design, process engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions across the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead R& D and industrialization projects aligned with corporate technology and product roadmaps. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, resources, budgets, and risk-mitigation strategies for III-V semiconductor programs. Drive multidisciplinary execution from concept and prototyping through validation and manufacturing transfer. Establish and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards relevant to III-V materials and cleanroom environments. Prepare and present project updates, technical documentation, and decision-support materials for internal and external stakeholders. Promote continuous improvement through structured reviews, lessons learned, and industry best practices. Technical Coordination & Device Implementation Oversee the physical implementation of photonic and/or electronic devices based on In P, Ga N, or mixed III-V platforms. Coordinate layout activities, DRC verification, and integration with Process Design Kits (PDKs). Collaborate closely with design and simulation teams working on lasers, detectors, modulators, HEMTs, RF devices, or high-power structures, depending on the technology platform. Support process engineering activities including epitaxy, lithography, etching, metallization, passivation, wafer bonding, and related cleanroom processes. Ensure rigorous documentation of experiments, process flows, wafer tracking, and device characterization results. Team Collaboration & Technical Development Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting structured, high-quality engineering practices. Facilitate clear communication and alignment across R& D, device design, cleanroom operations, test engineering, and manufacturing teams. Contribute to technology evolution through cross-functional problem-solving and innovation initiatives. Business & Technology Interface Provide technical input to business development and customer engagements. Support technical marketing and positioning with insights into III-V device performance, project outcomes, and roadmap progress. Required Qualifications Master's degree or Ph D in Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Photonics, Optoelectronics, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in semiconductor or photonic technology project management, with hands-on involvement in In P, Ga N, or other III-V devices. Strong background in device design, fabrication processes, or process integration for III-V materials. Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary technology projects from concept through manufacturing ramp-up. Practical experience with processes such as MOCVD/MBE epitaxy, lithography, dry/wet etching, metallization, wafer-level bonding, and passivation. Proficiency with photonic/electronic design and simulation tools (e.g., KLayout, Cadence, IPKISS, Lumerical, Silvaco, COMSOL) and solid familiarity with PDKs and DRC methodologies. Hands-on experience with optical, electrical, RF, or high-frequency testing of III-V devices. Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
