Licensed Animal Technician About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Licensed Animal Technician to join a fast-paced and collaborative in vivo research environment within a leading biomedical setting. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a genuine commitment to animal welfare, supporting high-quality translational research programmes. What You’ll Be Doing • Conduct regulated procedures in line with your Home Office Personal Licence (PIL A–B required), • Carry out a variety of dosing and sampling techniques, • Perform blood and tissue collection in accordance with study protocols, • Support anaesthesia and peri-operative care, including monitoring and recovery, • Assist with or perform in vivo techniques, such as cell implantation (where licensed), • Monitor animals post-procedure, ensuring accurate and compliant documentation, • Maintain full compliance with ASPA, Home Office regulations, and SOPs, • Uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical practice, • Work closely with scientific, veterinary, and technical teams to achieve study goals What We’re Looking For • Valid UK Home Office Personal Licence (PIL) with Categories A–B (essential), • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential), • Category C licence or relevant hands-on experience (desirable), • Practical experience in cell implantation and/or minor surgical techniques, • Strong understanding of ASPA regulations and animal welfare standards, • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in record-keeping and documentation, • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team This is a great opportunity to contribute to impactful scientific research in a supportive and professional environment.
