Senior Electrical Design Engineer\n Location: Multiple UK Locations Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent \nRole Overview\n Advance TRS is working in partnership with a well-established and rapidly growing UK multi-utility infrastructure provider to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical design professional to play a key role in delivering LV and HV network designs across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial developments. \n Reporting to a Design Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing compliant, high-quality electrical network designs while providing technical leadership, stakeholder support, and mentoring within a collaborative design environment. \nKey Responsibilities\n\n • Design bespoke LV and HV (11kV/33kV) electrical network and earthing solutions.\n, • Produce detailed electrical design deliverables, including:\n\n, • Single line diagrams\n, • General arrangements\n, • Circuit and wiring diagrams\n, • Block cable diagrams and schedules\n, • Cable sizing and specification calculations\n\n\n, • Obtain DNO/IDNO design approvals for electrical network and earthing designs.\n, • Ensure all designs comply with current:\n\n, • DNO/IDNO policies\n, • ENA and G81 documentation\n, • CDM Regulations\n, • Relevant UK standards, legislation, and codes of practice\n\n\n, • Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, utility providers, equipment manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.\n, • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising workloads to meet programme and budget requirements.\n, • Provide specialist electrical and substation engineering advice to project teams.\n, • Support tendering activities through outline designs and technical input.\n, • Undertake internal peer reviews of tender and contract designs.\n, • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardised electrical design procedures.\n, • Mentor and support junior and trainee engineers.\n, • Coordinate with gas and water design teams to deliver integrated multi-utility solutions.\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\n, • Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.\n, • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with the IET, or working towards within 6 months.\n, • Minimum 5 years’ experience designing LV and HV electrical utility networks.\n, • Strong knowledge of the UK power distribution industry and DNO/IDNO requirements.\n, • Working knowledge of:\n\n, • G81 documentation\n, • NERS requirements\n, • Substation, cable, and plant specifications\n, • DNO protection philosophies (desirable)\n\n\n, • Proficiency in WinDEBUT / VisNet and AutoCAD.\n, • Good understanding of CDM Regulations, NRSWA, and relevant ISO standards.\n, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\n, • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.\n, • Self-motivated team player capable of working independently and resolving design issues.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n, • Permanent, full-time position with a growing infrastructure business.\n, • Long-term career development and mentoring opportunities.\n, • Supportive and collaborative design environment.\n, • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.\n
