Business Manager Nest Invest London (Hybrid working) Nest Invest is on an ambitious journey to become one of the world’s largest asset owners. Nest Invest is pursuing a strategy to become the best possible buyer, user, and implementer of outsourced investment management services: we will focus on the higher end of the investment value chain, taking important decisions internally on asset allocation, portfolio/fund construction and benchmarking, whilst outsourcing investment management, investment operations, and trading activity. The Role Reporting into the Director of Investment Strategic Delivery, The Business Manager will play a critical role in the effective running of Nest Invest as a high-performing, professional investment business, through this transformation period and beyond. This will include overseeing existing core business processes as well as establishing new capability and influencing the design of the future business model. The Investment Strategic Delivery (ISD) team in Nest Invest is responsible for change and transformation, governance and business management, and comprises around 12 people. In this role you will be responsible for: • Managing the Business Support team, who provide executive assistant support to senior investment leaders, and business and operational support to the wider organisation., • The management, organisation, facilitation and running of Nest Invest employee events., • Owning Nest Invest’s information management operations, including the maintenance and structuring/organisation of Nest Invest’s SharePoint as a knowledge management system., • Co-ordinating and organising required training (including regulatory training) for Nest Invest employees as needed in collaboration with various functions (Compliance, P&C, Information Security etc)., • Overseeing the effective onboarding and induction for new FCA regulated starters to Nest Invest, including maintenance of the new starter pack., • Managing ad-hoc activities across the business management and support functions to support the investment business and Executive team as needed., • Providing reporting on business management matters to Nest Invest governance forums including the NI Executive and Operations Committees. The Person This is an incredibly exciting time in Nest Invest’s future growth agenda and the successful Business Manager will play a key role in ensuring the organisation is successful in achieving their long term strategic ambitions through a period of significant transformation. We are looking for: • An established Business Manager / Deputy Chief of Staff / Operations Manager, with proven experience of operating within a financial services environment., • A candidate who is comfortable and experienced in a broad and varied Business Management role that includes: -Leadership of business support, -Development of Org charts and JD’s, candidate onboarding and induction, -Knowledge management - SharePoint oversight and maintenance, -Organising company events and away days, -Leading and improving a variety of operational processes, -First line audit and compliance assurance. • A candidate who can work well both as part of a team as well as autonomously, using their own initiative to lead on continuous improvement and efficiency drives, contributing significantly to the operational development of an organisation., • Exceptional people engagement and influencing skills and the ability to partner with senior stakeholders across a business, including in this case the Director of Investment Strategic Delivery, the COO, the CIO and the CEO of Nest Invest., • Experience of working within an FCA regulated environment., • Capable of juggling multiple projects and delivering to tight deadlines., • Excellent planning and project management skills, with a focus on milestones, deadlines and delivery. The ability to deliver and run in parallel change projects alongside BAU activities related to a Business Manager role as outlined above., • Very well organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to be both strategic and hands on. The responsibilities of the team include: • Asset allocation and portfolio risk management, • Manager selection and monitoring, • Responsible investment, • Investment communications, • Fund administration, • Investment technology and financial modelling, • Contributing to the development of the investment proposition From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation.
