So, if you’re into tasty beer with a difference, you’ve come to the right place. The role We’re looking for a pro-active, driven Data Engineer to join our growing data team at Beavertown Brewery. Data is at the heart of everything we do – from understanding our customers to optimising brewing operations and driving commercial performance. In this role, you’ll play a key part in connecting data from across the business into a single, reliable platform that stakeholders can trust. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation, building robust data pipelines and transforming raw data into meaningful insights that power decision-making. What you’ll be doing As a Data Engineer, you’ll help ensure our data platform is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose. Your key responsibilities will include: Data Engineering & Pipelines • Build and maintain data pipelines to integrate commercial, operational, and financial data into our platform, • Ensure pipelines are reliable, monitored, and kept running with minimal disruption, • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues quickly to avoid impacting reporting Data Transformation & Quality • Write code to transform raw data into structured, consistent datasets for analytics, • Implement data validation checks and quality testing within pipelines, • Ensure data is accurate before it reaches business users Data Governance & Best Practice • Follow version control and deployment processes to safely release changes, • Maintain clear and up-to-date data documentation, • Handle personal and sensitive data in line with GDPR and company policy Collaboration & Support • Support the wider business in using data effectively, enabling self-serve analytics, • Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and priorities, • Contribute to the data community, sharing knowledge and improving practices What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive, collaborative mindset. You’ll ideally have: ✅ Intermediate SQL skills ✅ Basic Python knowledge ✅ Experience with Git and version control ✅ Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines ✅ Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms ✅ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail ✅ A proactive approach with the ability to own and deliver tasks Desirable: • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Apache Spark, • Familiarity with tools such as Fivetran, • Understanding of modern data architectures (e.g. medallion architecture), • Exposure to CI/CD, Azure DevOps or Jira, • University degree in Computer Science, IT, or Maths preferred, but not essential.
