We are seeking an experienced IT Configuration Manager to lead the design, implementation, and governance of a robust configuration management system within a large-scale IT integration programme for the UK defence sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, traceability, and compliance of all configuration items across complex environments, including both cloud-based and on-premises server infrastructures. Your Role and Responsibilities Define and Implement Configuration Management System: Establish and maintain a comprehensive configuration management framework aligned with organisational and MOD standards. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and tools for configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audit. Configuration Items (CIs) and CMDB Management: Define and maintain the structure and classification of Configuration Items (CIs) across all environments. Configure and optimise CMDB tooling (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) to ensure accurate data integrity and relationships between CIs. Implement automated discovery and reconciliation processes to keep the CMDB current and reliable. Governance and Compliance: Apply ITIL V4 principles to define and implement compliant processes for configuration and change management. Ensure adherence to UK MOD security and quality standards throughout the lifecycle. Technical Leadership: Oversee configuration activities across hybrid environments (cloud and server-based systems). Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to maintain accurate configuration baselines. Agile and SecDevOps Integration: Work closely with agile development teams to align configuration management with sprint planning, release cycles, and backlog refinement. Support SecDevOps practices to embed security and compliance into continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and MOD representatives to ensure configuration management objectives are met. Provide regular reporting and audits to demonstrate compliance and readiness. WHO DO WE NEED? Proven experience in configuration management within complex IT programmes. Strong knowledge of ITIL V4 and ability to design and apply compliant processes. Demonstrable knowledge with managing and overseeing entire release management cycle to include hotfixes, defect tracking, production operations status reporting Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and on-premises server environments. Familiarity with UK MOD standards, security classifications, and governance frameworks. Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated artefacts (release planning, retrospectives, backlog management). Exposure to SecDevOps principles and tooling. Practical experience in defining CIs and configuring CMDB tools. Desirable Qualifications ITIL V4 Certification. MOD Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain). Experience with configuration management tools (e.g.,ManageEngine CMDB). Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Maritime Combat Systems Engineer Programme: Maritime Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Maritime Combat Systems Engineer (MCSE) to lead the design and implementation of a Combat System for the Leidos Sea Dagger, a brand new naval combat platform.Considering applying for this job Do not delay, scroll down and make your application as soon as possible to avoid missing out.The candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime combat, C2 and Combat Management systems, data networks and architectures, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as understanding of overall platform design and architecture.This role will include selecting, implementing, integrating and setting to work various combat system capabilities drawn from Industry partners and internally Leidos generated products.A key element of this role will be integration of Agentic AI systems into the combat system with a strong focus on autonomous systems.Familiarity with StrikeNet and other emergent naval systems would be advantageous.The MCSE will report directly to the Maritime Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the delivery of the Combat Systems, supporting the various trials that will allow the acceptance of the new platform into service with the UK Royal Navy.What will I be doing? Lead the implementation of the platform combat system, including StrikeNet, ATAK, communications, navigation, Combat Management System and the integrated platform management systems for the new Sea Dagger platform.Lead the definition, selection and build out of the Compute stack hosting the Combat System Support with the generation and Acceptance of User and System level requirements defining the operational need for the Combat System element to the Sea Dagger platform.Engage with military stakeholders, engineering teams, partners and subcontractors to define and validate combat system solutions and to understand and influence technical roadmaps.Review and implement solutions to ensure compliance with military standards, safety, and security requirements (e.g., DEF STAN, STANAG, MIL-STD).Support bid and proposal efforts by contributing to the associated governance of the Combat Systems solution design and supporting technical proposal and costing reviews.Conduct trade studies and support design reviews to assess system performance, scalability, and interoperability.Support the provision of governance and oversight across engineering delivery to ensure technical alignment and integration across maritime opportunities.Stay abreast of emerging and cutting edge technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and system improvement including but not limited to uncrewed systems, advanced comms and AI.What does Leidos need from me?
