A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Functional Integration Lead to join a highly complex engineering programme, leading the delivery of functional integration and system verification activities across subsystem, software and compatibility integration phases. This role performs the duties of leading functional integration and system proving activities and reports to the Chief Systems Proving Engineer. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver integration and verification / proving activities to support programme milestones and certification readiness, • Translate system and subsystem requirements into comprehensive integration and proving strategies, • Lead integration campaigns ensuring adherence to procedures, safety requirements and programme standards, • Provide governance for integration and verification activities including approval of test plans, risk mitigations and readiness for trials and certification, • Lead day-to-day functional integration activities including compatibility and software integration workstreams, • Support subsystem integration activities including implementation of system updates and introduction of new subsystems ahead of trials, • Lead the integration of new capabilities including telemetry solutions and other subsystem updates, • Support broader integration and system validation activities across the programme including ground and flight trials, • Manage resource planning, team capability development and recruitment for the Functional Integration team, • Liaise with suppliers, test facilities and programme stakeholders to coordinate integration activities, • Present integration progress, test results and technical issues clearly to customers and programme leadership The ideal candidate would have: • Experience in test, verification or system integration activities, • Strong understanding of hardware and software integration and testing processes, • Familiarity with general commercial laboratory test equipment, • Experience using data analysis tools and methods for test evaluation, • Appreciation of electronic technologies and complex engineering systems, • A practical, hands-on approach to engineering problem solving, • Experience working within fast-paced, complex engineering programmes The ideal candidate must have: • Strong engineering background with the ability to balance technical delivery and programme leadership, • The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving programme environment, • Excellent decision-making ability including making informed decisions with incomplete information, • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and adaptable mindset, • Clear communication skills with the ability to present technical information to stakeholders and programme leaders, • Strong leadership capability to guide integration activities and technical teams This position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not inclusive of: • Bonus scheme (based on company performance), • Annual pay reviews and promotion reviews (based on personal performance), • Overtime paid at an enhanced rate, • Flexi-Leave (of up to 15 days), • Pension scheme (total contribution of up to 14%), • Subsidised site facilities and restaurants, • Free parking, • Excellent career progression and training / career development opportunities.
