Vacancy | Football Development Officer (Education) Location: Based at County Sports Ground, Worcester, with travel across the county. Salary: £25,000 per annum. Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:30am-4:30pm), with some evenings and weekends required. Contract: Full Time - Permanent. The Opportunity Worcestershire FA is seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and flexible individual to join its Development Team as Football Development Officer (Education). This role will lead the planning, administration, and delivery of the Education programme across Worcestershire football, including Coach Education, Referee Education, and wider football workforce development. The successful candidate will also lead the County FA's Coach Development strategy, working with tutors and developers to enhance coaching within grassroots clubs. This is not a coaching role, but a strategic and administrative position focused on supporting the football workforce and delivering high-quality education opportunities. Worcestershire FA has governed, administered, and developed football across the county since 1893. The organisation works alongside clubs, leagues, players, coaches, and referees to enhance the game for everyone. Main Responsibilities • Support delivery of Worcestershire FA's Business Strategy and FA National Game initiatives, • Organise, administer, and promote a comprehensive Education offer for Worcestershire football, • Engage with 2-star and 3-star England Football Accredited clubs to support Coach Development and the Thriving Community Club programme, • Support clubs in developing internal Club Coach Leads through training and quality assurance, • Lead the creation and implementation of an annual Education plan, including venue booking, tutor coordination, marketing, and course administration, • Collaborate with key partners to ensure delivery of the Education programme in line with contracts and policies, • Attend and support Education events, including CPD delivery and quality assurance, • Support recruitment and deployment of FA Casual Coach Developers, • Work with the wider Development Team to grow the network of coaches, volunteers, and referees, • Ensure all projects align with FA and Worcestershire FA strategies on inclusion, • Contribute to the effective implementation of The FA's Safeguarding Operating Standard, • UEFA B qualified coach (or currently working towards qualification), • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience, • Strong project management and organisational skills, • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, • Knowledge of grassroots football and the FA Coach Development framework, • Experience working with volunteers and adult learners, • Commitment to equality, safeguarding, and inclusion, • Licensed Coach Developer (or aspirations to become one), • Experience in Coach Development within grassroots football, • Qualification in sports development or similar, • Experience managing budgets and writing reports, • 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and three discretionary days), increasing with service, • Free on-site parking, including EV charging, • Full staff kit package, • Opportunities to attend matches across Worcestershire Closing Date & Interviews • Application deadline: 9:00am on Tuesday 14th October 2025, • Interview dates: Planned to be held on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October 2025 The successful candidate will be required to undertake an FA DBS check, safeguarding induction, and training.
