Product Lifecycle Consultant – Aftermarket Location: Onsite in Peterborough Contract: 12 Months (Likely to Extend!) Rate: £31.90 per hour Role Overview: As a Product Lifecycle Consultant, you will be at the forefront of aftermarket strategy — leading deliverables in major New Product Introduction (NPI) and product deletion projects. This position is integral to ensuring long-term parts growth, service readiness, and customer support through innovation, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities: • Lead aftermarket deliverables in NPI and product retirement projects, ensuring alignment with business and product strategies., • Develop and optimise repair and service solutions to drive parts revenue., • Manage key lifecycle elements such as branding, IP, supplier agreements, design changes, service, and overhaul planning., • Support business cases for innovative aftermarket solutions and guide them through to market launch., • Analyse key metrics to continuously improve processes and boost parts sales performance (POPS)., • Ensure accurate service level settings for parts to maximise availability and revenue., • Collaborate across engineering, product, supply chain, quality, and operations to ensure aftermarket readiness is built into product design. Skills & Experience: • Proven experience in NPI and/or product lifecycle management within an engineering or manufacturing environment., • Strong knowledge of aftermarket systems, design changes, repair and service solutions., • Ability to influence and lead across teams without direct authority., • Skilled in project and change management with excellent time and task prioritisation., • Experience working with complex datasets for analysis and decision-making., • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings using systems such as Teamcenter or equivalent., • Familiarity with parts sales and marketing functions is a plus. Qualifications: • A degree in engineering, business, or a related field – or equivalent experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities • Schedule regular visits to UK customer sites to understand their current production challenges and stringent requirements, • Offering technical solutions to customers to counteract their current production issues, • Carrying out technical demonstrations of prototype equipment to customers in an attempt to secure new business, • Maintain in depth knowledge across the company’s product portfolio, as well as understanding key features and functions, • Monitor and chase sales enquiries and outstanding quotations, • Review cost modules, pricing structures, and vendor agreements, • Help to develop and complete technical proposals and tenders, • Oversee key stages of the project life cycle, including key manufacturing stages to ensure key requirements, SLAs and quality standards are being adhered to, • Provide regular project progress updates to customers, • Log key customer information on to the company CRM system and provide regular periodic sales and forecasting reports for senior leadership team Skills & Experience • Formal qualification in Engineering, Design or Technical related subject, • Previous experience working for a food-based material handling manufacturer a distinct advantage, • Sound product knowledge of equipment such as roller conveyors, feeders, sortation systems, hoists, palletisers etc., • Proven capability in building and maintaining professional customer relationships, • Previous technical sales experience, with the confidence to upsell customers, • Experience working with cost sheets, producing detailed quotes and estimations, • Experience producing tenders and proposals highly desirable, • Flexible with UK wide travel when required, including some overnight stays, • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages and CRM/ERP systems, • Full, UK driving license essential About Express Recruitment Express Recruitment has been offering exceptional recruitment solutions across the East Midlands since 1987, “exceeding expectations every time” of over 267,000 candidates.
