Operating from our head office, warehouse, and purpose-built training centre in Hertford, we deliver high-quality electrical services while continuously developing and supporting our people.The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Reactive Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team, working across a variety of domestic and commercial properties, primarily within social housing and local authority sectors. Your core hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.This role involves carrying out a wide range of electrical maintenance works including basic accessory changes, consumer unit upgrades, lighting upgrades, fault finding, minor installation works, emergency lighting repairs, basic ventilation works, and mains fire alarm works. You will be responsible for completing all assigned jobs to a high standard while using your technical knowledge and practical skills to deliver safe, compliant, and customer-focused solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works across domestic and commercial propertiesComplete consumer unit upgrades, lighting upgrades, accessory replacements, and minor installation worksDiagnose, identify, and report electrical faults accuratelyCarry out emergency lighting repairs, basic ventilation works, and mains fire alarm maintenanceInterpret electrical and site drawings where requiredComplete all job sheets, reports, and documentation using the Oneserve application accurately and in a timely mannerCommunicate professionally with residents, clients, and colleaguesDeliver excellent customer service at all timesAdhere to company policies, procedures, and operational standardsWork safely in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations and relevant electrical legislationTake part in training and support continuous business improvementCarry out additional duties as required by managementWhat Were Looking ForStrong knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance worksExperience working within domestic and commercial environmentsGood fault-finding and diagnostic skillsAbility to interpret technical drawings when requiredCompetent using mobile devices to complete electronic job sheetsExcellent attention to detail and accurate record keepingStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPositive attitude, reliability, and good timekeepingWhat You Will HaveL3 Electrical Installations DiplomaCity & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (or equivalent - preferred)AM2 Assessment (preferred)Inspection & Testing (C&G 2391-51)18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18)Full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)What We OfferAt Fixatex, we believe great work deserves great rewards.
