We’re the beating heart of grassroots community activism and creativity in Lancaster with a clear mission ‘for people to be in the driving seat of their community events and cultural experiences.’ We’re succeeding in fulfilling our mission and our success means we need to increase our staff capacity. We are excited to advertise this brand new role which will help to develop the centre. This is a job for somebody hungry to make change in a community setting, someone that is community driven, prepared to be fully hands on and has awesome organisation skills. There are set deliverables in terms of making our community building work effectively day in, day out but there’s plenty of scope to shape the future of the Gregson Community & Arts Centre as we strive to achieve our vision: ‘To transform our historic building and spaces into inspirational community places that enable our community to thrive” You will be a key player in making this happen. Brief Role Overview: You will be a catalyst for change and: ● Implement processes to ensure the Gregson runs efficiently, safely and is compliant ● Oversee day to day operations in the centre including events and maintenance ● Deputise for the CEO and Cafe Bar Manager in their absence ● Support and oversee Cafe Bar staff and volunteers to deliver events ● Lead on improving our equipment and facilities and capital development projects from start to finish ● Dream big to maximise the use of our spaces
