Operating from a busy manufacturing site near Swansea, the company combines modern CNC equipment with a variety of traditional and legacy machinery, creating a technically interesting and hands-on engineering environment. Due to continued growth and increased workload, an opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join the site maintenance team. The Role This is a hands-on maintenance engineering role supporting the upkeep, repair, and reliability of manufacturing equipment across the site. Working within a close-knit maintenance team, you will support both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown activities across a wide range of machinery and equipment. The role would suit an engineer with strong mechanical maintenance experience and practical machining skills, particularly using manual lathes and milling machines. Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site machinery, • Diagnose faults and support breakdown repair activities, • Maintain and repair both CNC and manual manufacturing equipment, • Support maintenance and refurbishment of older / legacy machinery, • Manufacture or modify parts using manual lathes and milling machines, • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics, • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives, • Assist with general site maintenance activities where required About You • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or similar, • Strong mechanical maintenance background within manufacturing or engineering environments, • Manual machining experience using lathes and milling machines is essential, • Experience working on motors, drives, gears, pumps, and mechanical systems, • Ability to fault find and problem solve in a practical engineering environment, • Comfortable working on both modern and older machinery, • Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge beneficial, • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team Desirable Experience • CNC machinery exposure, • Heidenhain controls knowledge, • Welding or fabrication experience, • Planned preventative maintenance systems, • Heavy engineering or precision machining environments Benefits • Overtime available paid at enhanced rates, • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, • Company pension scheme, • Free on-site parking, • Stable long-term opportunity within an established engineering business How to Apply To apply for this Maintenance Engineer position, click Apply Now and upload your CV.
