Role Overview As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting factory machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant production operations. You will respond to breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site. Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm or 9.30am to 6pm with opportunity to work extra hours. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Maintenance • Carry out fault finding and respond promptly to production-critical and quality-related engineering issues, • Perform planned preventative maintenance and repairs on all site machinery, including grading, weighing, washing, and packing equipment, • Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as motors, gearboxes, and drive systems, • Support hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance and repairs, • Undertake fabrication and welding work, including both repairs and new builds, • Ensure all machinery is tested, assessed, and maintained in line with engineering standards, • Assist in investigating and resolving foreign object complaints, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, • Carry out occasional maintenance of buildings and site services, • Complete accurate and timely maintenance records and documentation, • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accreditation requirements Skills & Experience Required • Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within a production or manufacturing environment, • Strong mechanical engineering skills, • Experience in welding and fabrication, • Ability to diagnose faults and work effectively under pressure, • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, • Understanding of health & safety and food safety standards COG LTD are acting as an Employment Agency

Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) - York - £55,000 Continental Shifts (4 on 4 off) | Technically Complex Site | Training & Development | Permanent I'm working with a leading process manufacturing business near York who are looking to strengthen their maintenance team with an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer. This is a well-invested, technically demanding site operating under stringent regulatory requirements and they need a confident, hands-on engineer who can work across both electrical and mechanical disciplines without close supervision. The shift pattern is continental, four on, four off. You'll be fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems, maintaining fluid-transfer equipment and supporting planned maintenance activity across a busy, continuous production environment. Welding and fabrication capability would be a bonus. What the role involves: • Fault-finding and maintenance on PLC-controlled systems and relay logic circuits, • Maintenance of fluid-transfer pumps including centrifugal and progressing cavity types, • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs and engineering drawings, • Working within a regulated environment (LOTO, PUWER and LOLER) compliance throughout, • Planned and reactive maintenance, permit to work, safe isolation, • Use of CMMS systems for maintenance records and scheduling, • Welding, fabrication and IPAF 3B work where applicable What they're looking for: • NVQ Level 3 (minimum) in electrical and/or mechanical engineering, or time-served equivalent, • Strong PLC fault-finding ability and relay logic knowledge, • Hands-on experience with fluid-transfer pump technology, • Solid working knowledge of LOTO, PUWER and LOLER, • IPAF 3B licence and welding/fabrication skills — advantageous, • Good IT literacy and familiarity with CMMS platforms The site is technically interesting, well-resourced and run by a business that invests in both its infrastructure and its people. Senior Steelwork Fabrication Draughtsman required with experience in Steelwork Design and Detailing, using AutoCAD 2D, Tekla or Advance Steel for a medium sized Steel Fabricator Installer. You will be producing high quality 2D drawings and 3D models at every stage of the project from interpreting initial architectural intent through to fabrication packages. You will need very good communication skills and be able to build strong professional relationships with both the clients and colleagues.
