W&A are delighted to be working exclusively with a Facilities Management business based in West Lothian, as they look to recruit a Financial Controller in what is a newly created position. Part of a large, successful, multifaceted group, the role will take responsibility of end to end finance of one of the Group's most profitable divisions, leading a small but experienced finance team. The Financial Controller role will have the opportunity to grow and support additional Group Finance activity and General Management responsibilities, potentially getting involved in future acquisitions and strategic work. The role will be highly visible and, whilst being 'Hands On', will also be involved at Board level within the Senior Management Team, work closely with the business and have a strong commercial element to it. As an individual, you will need to bring a strong technical and commercial awareness to the role and will be able to present confidently at a senior level. Key Responsibilities • Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reporting for senior leadership, • Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts; monitor performance against targets, • Liaising with clients, calculating and managing project income and cost increases, • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close, • Support statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors, • Develop and improve internal financial controls, processes and reporting tools, • Provide financial commercial insight to support decision-making across the business, • Preparation of cash flow projections., • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and engagement, • Partner with operations, procurement and other departments to improve efficiency and control costs, • Applicants must hold a Professional Accountancy qualification, • Experience of producing end-to-end Financial Management Accounts with the ability to be 'Hands On', • Strong communicator, confident presenter and able to build relationships out with finance, • Line Management desirable but not essential.
