You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us. \n From the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you. \n Role Description: \n The Manager of Air Traffic Control is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of Air Navigation Services at Warton Aerodrome, ensuring safe and effective flying operations. Acting as the key point of contact, they lead a team of 14 Air Traffic Controllers and Engineers, overseeing operational delivery, facilities, equipment, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. \n The role includes coordinating operational activities, aligning capability and governance across the Air Sector, and supporting strategic service growth. It also ensures full compliance with CAA and MAA regulations, as well as internal standards such as EN9100, SHE, and air safety management, maintaining safe operations and managing risk to ALARP levels. \n Core duties: \n\n • Responsible to the Aerodrome Manager for the provision of an effective and compliant Air Navigation Service Provision, ensuring maintenance of regulatory approvals in support of ‘Operational Delivery’\n, • Manage the Aerodrome’s Air Navigation Service Provision associated facilities, people, processes, day to day business activities, and capability including the communication, navigation and surveillance equipment\n, • To ensure that all ATS staff are adequately trained and competent to carry out the ATS task and, where necessary, are appropriately licensed, in accordance with the requirements of the Unit Training Plan and the Unit Competence Scheme\n, • Support the Head of Operations in the development and exploitation of business and service opportunities for the benefit of the Air Sector\n, • As an operational risk owner support the AM(MF)’s safety argument and Risk to Life position through effective mitigation of risk to ALARP\n, • Work in partnership with internal teams and external partners including the CAA, NATS, the MoD, Airspace working groups and National Airspace forums to develop and exploit Operational Delivery business opportunities\n, • Previous experience in the delivery of Air Navigation Service Provision and the UK CAA regulatory environment.
