Responsible for driving Sales & profitability of Superdrug Own Brand Personal Care Category and delivering a robust commercial plan across product, price, promotions & merchandising that meets our Customer’s needs. To strive for excellence when developing Superdrug Own Brand Personal Care ranges through the development and delivery of the product plan through working in collaboration with the Senior Buyer and a team of technical and design experts. Reporting into the Senior Buyer, but responsible for autonomous projects in their own right. Key Responsibilities • Develop Category plans including Range Reviews and launch plans, Promotions, Pricing & Stock that deliver against the overall Commercial Strategy & Financial targets, • Develop and deliver profitable promotional plans for responsible Categories. Forecast promotional sales and monitor and evaluate performance on a weekly/monthly/annual basis, proactively introducing revised plans and activity as and when required, • Working in partnership with the Merchandising team, agree merchandising strategy that drives and delivers Own Brand advantage whilst managing availability and slow-moving stock Deliver informed Category reviews, incorporating market data, trend data, merchandising review, promotional review, competitor review, customer data and buyer input. Turn Category reviews into the annual Category NPD plan • Develop new brand concepts, and development plans for existing Own Brand ranges, • Develop products and packaging appropriate to our customers, the brand and our commercial requirements. Collaborate with the Marketing, CRM , Online and digital teams to develop and implement marketing and promotion plans that are relevant to the category and effectively communicate to the Customer, • Collaborate with International Buying and other European businesses to harmonise product/suppliers, to gain greater efficiencies and share best practice., • Ensure clear communication across the business and ensure appropriate processes in place., • Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to work with both key mass market brands and more niche new brands to drive sales and market share for Superdrug whilst providing a best in class customer experience both on and offline. The role will support in product selection, analysing performance and providing weekly sell-through reports, as well preparing for trade meetings, and attending brand meetings. Key Responsibilities Develop implement and deliver category plans including range reviews, promotions pricing and stock that are consistent with overall commercial strategy and financial objectives. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing promotion plans and strategies that are relevant to category; adhere to legislation and brand guidelines’; and clearly and effectively communicate with the customer, driving footfall and profitable sales. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking appropriate action where necessary, and sharing best practice with peers and other stakeholders. Work with Own Brand team to develop and deliver Own Brand products/ranges that deliver increased participation and meet agreed strategy and plans. Working in partnership with the Merchandising team, agree merchandising strategy that drives and delivers right range in the right store; ensuring availability in store; and control of slow moving stock. Identify and implement new product opportunities that are competitively priced, commercially viable and meet customer needs, driving sales and profitability. Manage and review pricing, ensuring pricing that is competitive and maximises profitability. Operate within Company pricing strategy. Working in conjunction with Supply Chain team, ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to, whilst maintaining in-store availability to meet the customer’s needs. Develop effective internal working relationships with cross functional team members to support and enhance category objectives and performance. Develop build and maintain effective external relationships to enhance the Superdrug proposition and meet customer needs. Adopt appropriate negotiation strategies to attain the best terms for the category and the business.
