Facilities Assistant Permanent Full Time Leek Wootton Salary £27,204.00 - £29,859.00 Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration. To support the Facilities Managers with their day-to-day activities. Monitor, measure and react to the helpdesk tasks. Maintain effective working relationships with Contractors, Suppliers and any other 3rd party services. Provide assistance, as directed by the Facilities Managers. Main Responsibilities: Act as the local point of contact/liaison for service areas, suppliers and consultants, monitor on-site day to day activities and minor works, including the safety and quality of the works of contractors, suppliers and report on activities in these areas, under the direction of the Facilities Managers. Maintain customer contact, providing a point of contact for the facilities service, provide support to the Facilities Managers. Report to the Helpdesk all required repair works, which is beyond the competence of the post holder, once directed by the Facilities Managers. Provide services across the Estate, relating to fire alarm tests, fire extinguisher checks, water hygiene and inspections. Carry out weekly and monthly statutory testing and safety checks, and any other duties within the scope of works, as directed by the Facilities Managers. Identify and report building faults via the helpdesk, where appropriate. To provide updated and timely information for the Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFM) so that accurate records are maintained across the Estates. Conduct DSE assessments to identify the potential health risks to DSE users and ensuring users’ workstations are set up ergonomically reducing the risk of pain, injury, and fatigue, such as repetitive strain. Provide guidance and advice to users to ensure they use their DSE correctly. Account for additional needs such as disabilities, and identify where additional expertise is required by referring on, such as assessments by Occupational Health, neurodiversity experts, etc. To arrange and coordinate movement of furniture and equipment throughout the Estate. Supply assistance for the Facilities Managers as and when directed. Undertake basic DIY across the estate as and when required. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Special Conditions: Occasional weekend working Regular travel throughout Warwickshire Required to wear a uniform Full and clean driving license Frequent Physical Effort required: Manual handling of equipment / furniture. Completion of building fabric repair works. Unpleasant Working Conditions: Potential exposure during plumbing and drainage works. Working outside in inclement weather conditions. Person Specification: Knowledge: Essential: Educated to GCSE standard (5 A – C including English Language and Maths) Competent in the use of IT, including Microsoft packages or equivalent Desirable: Formal qualifications or equivalent experience in building related work to include one / a number of the following: Painting, decorating, roofing, plastering, tiling, flooring, joinery, masonry, basic plumbing, welding and general repair / maintenance work, or time served experience in one / a number of the above skills including general repair work. Experience: Experience in the practical application of Health & Safety legislation Experience of building fabric related works or projects Key Skills: Exceptional customer focus and service skills. ICT competent in the use of Microsoft applications
