We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Engineering Stores Person with a strong sound engineering background to manage and control engineering spares inventory at one of our Insites based on Trafford Park, Manchester. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of mechanical components, particularly belts, bearings, and associated consumables, ensuring efficient stock management, accuracy, and timely availability to support maintenance operations. Key ResponsibilitiesStores & Inventory Management • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming engineering components and materials, • Maintain organised storage of spare parts with clear identification and labelling, • Monitor stock levels and ensure optimum inventory of critical spares, • Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and full inventory audits, • Update and maintain stock records using a CMMS or stock control systemEngineering Spares Handling, • Identify and issue appropriate parts including:, • Bearings (ball, roller, pillow block, etc.), • Drive belts (V-belts, timing belts, conveyor belts), • Seals, chains, sprockets, and mechanical fasteners, • Interpret engineering drawings, part numbers, and specifications, • Ensure correct handling and storage conditions to preserve part integrityTechnical Support, • Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to understand requirements, • Provide technical support in identifying suitable replacement parts, • Assist in sourcing equivalent or alternative components where required, • Help reduce downtime by ensuring critical spares availabilityProcurement & Supplier Liaison, • Raise purchase requisitions for stock replenishment, • Liaise with suppliers for pricing, specifications, and delivery, • Evaluate quality and suitability of incoming engineering componentsHealth, Safety & Compliance, • Ensure safe handling, storage, and movement of materials, • Maintain clean, safe, and organised stores environment, • Follow company procedures and health & safety regulationsSkills & Experience Required, • Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, or engineering environment, • Strong engineering knowledge, particularly mechanical components, • Good understanding of bearings, belts, power transmission, and spares, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, • Experience using inventory systems or CMMS, • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, • Good organisational and communication skillsDesirable Qualifications, • Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent), • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential), • Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial environmentsKey Attributes, • Practical, hands-on mindset, • Proactive and problem-solving approach, • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment, • Strong team player with the ability to work independently JBRP1_UKTJ
