Lead Consultant Location: Warrington Inside IR35 Reports to: This role typically reports to the Head a Consultancy Job Purpose To lead, develop and manage strategy development and implementation, in line with the Consultancy Growth Plans. To take ownership for Consultancy growth campaigns, frameworks, tender opportunities and operational excellence across the Consultancy stream. Key Responsibilities Consultancy Business provides industry leading support and solutions to a wide range of customers and provides a platform to support the future strategy and growth of the business. It is imperative that the Consultancy Business develops an executable and measurable strategic business Plan that aligns with the overarching consultancy Strategic Plan and aligns the NDA, Clean Energy and Defence Business Units. Delivery of technically excellent solutions is a key enabler to the growth aspirations of the business. As such the key responsibilities for the Lead Consultant are listed below: General Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Support the identification of core market areas, capability requirements, technology requirements, strategic partnerships / suppliers 2. Support the development of the Specialist Services 5 year business plan 3. Supports the execution of the strategy by working collaboratively with the business units and ensuring that the Cavendish Nuclear strategy is communicated and easily understood 4. Support the assessment, development and communication of new business opportunities in current and future markets to support the Specialist Services Strategic Plan 5. Provides support to strategic growth campaigns and bids including supporting value propositions, marketing content and presentation materials to support the Cavendish Nuclear Strategy 6. Develop and maintain key customer relationships 7. Continually improve delivery through review of industry best practice 8. Ensuring that deployed resources are suitably qualified and experienced personnel 9. Directing and supervising the work of technical specialists within the same discipline Project Delivery Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Providing leadership and key input to design projects, ensuring that nuclear safety requirements are incorporated 2. Managing delivery of tasks undertaken within their agreed Delegation of Authority (DOA) against cost and programme to the satisfaction of the Key Stakeholders 3. Provide oversite of technical submissions through the review and approval process 4. Review and approval of design changes, concessions and technical queries 5. Managing project risks by closing out safety items on the Technical Issues and Risk Register Database 6. Raising quality plans for work packages 7. Producing, verifying, and approving technical Scopes of Work, assessing tender returns, then verifying/assessing and/or approving the outputs to ensure that the requirements of the design sub-contract are met 8. Feeding back lessons learnt for use on future stages of the current project and other Projects Bid Support Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Provide oversite for all bids and offers in the stream within Delegations of Authority 2. Ensure robust governance processes are adhered to 3. Provide Independent assessment of the technical basis of claims and disputes where appropriate 4. Lead/conduct LFE reviews on successful and failed bids to ensure, it is incorporated into future opportunities Process Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Leading Resources: Responsible for effective planning and organisation of resources to deliver on customer promises Experience/Qualifications/Skills Essential: *Bachelor Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Science or Engineering related discipline * Chartered Status or working towards * Trustworthy and demonstrates maturity and discretion * Good business and strategy development knowledge and experience * Experience in the civil nuclear industry * Market knowledge including international and/or other Energy sectors * Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, partners, suppliers and customers Desirable: * Experience with tendering opportunities and knowledge of relevant procurement regulations used by the Client Minimum level of Qualifications to be verified (*N.B. only qualifications essential to the requirements of the role need to be checked) Bachelor Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Science or Engineering related discipline TPBN1_UKTJ
