About the Role The Adolescent Safeguarding Service is driving forward an ambitious programme of improvement, embedding Family Safeguarding Practice into our work with adolescents and their families. This strengths‑based, whole‑family model focuses on meaningful engagement, motivational interviewing and creating sustainable change that keeps children safe at home. We are now seeking a confident, passionate and experienced manager to lead service improvement across Adolescent Safeguarding. This opportunity offers the chance to shape practice, strengthen outcomes and ensure the voice of the child is central to everything we do. What You’ll Lead As Service Manager, you will: • Drive performance and practice improvement across the Adolescent Safeguarding Service, • Ensure child‑centred, creative and strengths‑based planning, • Embed Family Safeguarding principles within adolescent practice, • Champion family group decision making and the voice of the child, • Provide leadership support to Team Managers and Service Managers, • Oversee care planning and management of plans for children, • Provide strategic oversight of service development and improvement, • Lead responses to exploitation, including MACE panels, • Support legal pathways for children open to the service, • Strengthen management oversight, quality and consistency of practice, • Support the service with OFSTED preparedness and readiness We are looking for a leader who brings: • Proven experience managing teams and partnerships in children’s services, • Strong understanding of safeguarding practice with adolescents, • Ability to drive performance, improvement and cultural change, • Confidence in managing resources, budgets and service delivery, • A creative, child‑centred approach to supporting families, • Commitment to strengths‑based practice and motivational interviewing principles Why This Role Matters This is a key leadership role at a pivotal moment for the service.
