We assist all employers when they want to source public safety and enterprise security skills and experience.\n \n Finance Assistant\n Location: Coventry\n Salary: £13.10 per hour PAYE\n Hours: 18.5 hours per week\n Working Pattern\n Flexible across 3 days per week\n Hours: 9:00am - 3:40pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)\n \n Join a Team Making a Difference\n We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial administration of a busy charitable organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience who is looking for a flexible part-time role while contributing to services that support vulnerable individuals within the community.\n Working closely with the Finance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring financial records are accurate, payments are processed efficiently, and financial procedures are maintained to a high standard.\n Key Responsibilities\n\nVerify expense claims and ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.\nProcess cash and cheque payment requests in accordance with financial procedures.\nAssist with maintaining cash logs and recording income.\nSupport rent collection processes and communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding outstanding payments.\nMaintain accurate financial records and filing systems.\nAssist with treasury and banking transactions, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.\nPrepare and support monthly bank reconciliations.\nUpdate rent schedules and accommodation occupancy records.\nInput financial data into accounting systems to support monthly management accounts.\nProduce financial reports as required.\nEnsure financial records are maintained in line with organisational policies and procedures.\nAttend finance meetings and contribute to the smooth running of the finance function.About You\n We are looking for someone who has:\n\nA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a relevant qualification such as AAT.\nPrevious experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or similar systems.\nStrong understanding of financial administration and internal controls.\nExcellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nThe ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.Desirable\n\nFluency in one or more community languages.\nExperience working within the charity, voluntary or community sector.\nExperience supporting vulnerable individuals or community-based services.Personal Qualities\n The successful candidate will be:\n\nReliable, professional and trustworthy.\nCommitted to equality, diversity and inclusion.\nPassionate about supporting services that improve people's lives.\nAble to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.\nProactive, adaptable and willing to take initiative.\nCommitted to anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice.Additional Requirements\n\nEnhanced DBS check.\nStrong commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding principles.What We Offer\n\nFlexible working pattern across three days per week.\nSupportive and collaborative working environment.\nOpportunity to develop your finance and administrative skills.\nMeaningful work that contributes to vital community services.Apply Today\n If you are an organised finance professional looking for a flexible part-time opportunity where your work will make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nDue to the high volume of applications we receive, if you do not hear from us within 7 working days, your application has been unsuccessful.\n \n If this role is not for you but you do know somebody who would be interested, please feel free to refer them to us!
