They operate within a fast-paced environment where safety, accuracy, service delivery and operational excellence are at the heart of everything they do.\n\nThey are now looking for an experienced Deputy Distribution Centre & Hub Manager to join their team and support the continued success of their National Hub and Distribution Centre.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Deputy Distribution Centre & Hub Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance of the Hub and Distribution Centre during your shift, ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently and to schedule.\n\nThis is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead operational teams, manage performance, support colleagues and work closely with business partners and suppliers to deliver excellent service levels.\n\nYou will be responsible for ensuring operational targets, KPIs and customer expectations are achieved, while maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, security, compliance and continuous improvement.\n\nIn the absence of the Hub & Distribution Centre Manager, you will assume responsibility for the overall management and performance of the site.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead, motivate and support operational colleagues, business partners and suppliers to achieve operational and service objectives.\n\nManage the day-to-day running of the National Hub and Distribution Centre during shift.\n\nEnsure the linehaul network operates safely, efficiently and on schedule.\n\nMonitor operational performance, ensuring service levels, KPIs, SLAs and productivity targets are achieved or exceeded.\n\nSupport colleague performance, development, attendance and wellbeing through effective leadership and communication.\n\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.\n\nEnsure the security, integrity and safe handling of customer freight at all times.\n\nIdentify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption to service.\n\nDrive performance improvement and support a culture of continuous improvement across the operation.\n\nEnsure excellent housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the site.\n\nMaintain high standards of site security and attend site outside normal working hours when required.\n\nSupport compliance activities including audits, operational checks and monitoring of processes and procedures.\n\nEnsure all Health & Safety, environmental and ISO requirements are embedded within daily operations.\n\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of operational procedures, company policies and business developments.\n\nCommunicate key information effectively to colleagues and ensure teams are aligned with operational priorities.\n\nWork collaboratively with audit and compliance teams to maintain service quality and measure performance.\n\nDeliver excellent customer service by understanding customer requirements and responding to service expectations.\n\nDeputise for the Hub & Distribution Centre Manager when required.\n\nAbout You\n\nWe are looking for an experienced operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to motivate teams, solve problems and deliver results.\n\nYou will have:\n\nPrevious experience managing teams within a warehouse, distribution, logistics or transport environment.\n\nProven experience delivering against operational KPIs, SLAs and performance targets.\n\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop colleagues.\n\nThe ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy operational environment.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.\n\nThe confidence to make sound decisions and take ownership, even when information is limited or time-sensitive.\n\nExcellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nExperience managing relationships with customers, suppliers or business partners.\n\nA proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.\n\nGood knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and operational standards.\n\nStrong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.\n\nFlexibility to support changing operational requirements.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nSalary of £43,500 per annum.\n\nPermanent full-time position.\n\n37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.\n\n25 days annual leave plus public holidays, increasing to 30 days plus public holidays after 5 years’ service.\n\nMembership of the company pension scheme:\n\n3% employer contribution\n\n5% employee contribution\n\nLife assurance at 2x basic annual salary.\n\nAccess to Perkbox rewards and benefits platform.\n\nAutomatic enrolment into a healthcare cashback plan.\n\nEligibility to join the EV salary sacrifice scheme following successful completion of probation.\n\nThe opportunity to join a growing logistics operation with excellent development opportunities
