We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.\n\nWhat we can offer you;\n\n25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays \n \nAccess to our company/people's pension scheme\n \nDiscounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers\n \nAccess to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to\n \n24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household\n \nOne paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community \n \nOngoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential\n\nWhat you'll be doing; \n\nSupporting ERF/power plant operations, including waste-fired high-pressure boilers, steam cycle systems and generators\n \nOperating at senior authorised person level, or working towards SAP status, to support safe control of work\n \nMonitoring and supporting plant operation from the central control room using the distributed control system (DCS)\n \nManaging permit to work and safe systems of work, including permit office activities\n \nCoordinating work planning and scheduling with engineering and operations teams, including outage and maintenance planning\n \nRaising defects and progressing work orders using the CMMS (EAM or equivalent)\n \nSupporting compliance with the environmental permit/PPC permit, including monitoring and reporting any non-compliance or incidents\n \nApplying site safety rules and relevant health and safety legislation, including PUWER, LOLER and CDM requirements\n \nCoordinating cross-boundary works with external parties, including DNO interface for electrical works\n \nOperating plant and equipment as required by site demands, including mobile plant and the refuse crane (where trained/authorised)\n \nMonitoring stock levels and coordinating receipts of consumables and collections of residues\n \nCompleting hazard observations and behavioural safety monitoring (e.g., TeamSafe) to support a strong safety culture\n\nWhat we're looking for:\n\nRelevant qualifications or equivalent experience in energy recovery facility (ERF) operations or power plant operations\n \nEngineering knowledge within an industrial/process environment\n \nNEBOSH General Certificate and/or IOSH Managing Safely\n \nConversant with distributed control systems (DCS) / control room operations\n \nKnowledge of boiler water and steam cycle treatment and chemistry\n \nLegionella awareness\n \nStrong working knowledge of health and safety legislation including PUWER, LOLER and CDM Regulations\n \nCity & Guilds confined space - medium risk (or equivalent)\n \nFamiliarity with power industry / electricity board safety rules\n \nSenior authorised person (SAP) status, or authorised person working towards SAP status\n\nWhat's next?\n\nApply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.\n\nWe're proud to have been named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
