Our understanding of ship design allows us to make critical decisions on maintenance and repair as well as integrating into them new capabilities that give the Royal Navy the advantage. • Designing structural changes, including using FEA. • Taking part in inclining experiments to assess the stability of ships. • Contributing to stability analyses using specialist software. • Contributing to the dry docking of ships. • Helping inspect ships to understand their state of repair and come up with repair solutions.
