Other than the pumps, the package equipment will be procured mainly from other vendors, and the role of the senior engineer will be to specify and manage the technical requirements and deliverables of the purchased equipment as well as supporting the pump design team. This will require awareness of industry and client standards for ancillary equipment including pumps, gearboxes, lube systems, seal systems, valves etc and supporting the specification of other disciplines where required (motors etc). Typical standards that the role will cover include API610 (pumps), API 613 (gearboxes), API 614 (lube systems), API 682 (Seal systems) and API 671 (couplings). Although not essential, awareness of electrical and C&I standards would be a benefit.
