From hardware and manufacturing to software, AI and commercial, we're one team - one heart - that beats, learns and grows together. Build the function that knows what the fleet is doing, what it will do next, and what to fix first. • Define and own fleet health: what we measure, what good looks like, and how it is reported., • Investigate fleet-wide behaviour from logs and telemetry: spot a warning appearing on a handful of robots, work out which release or configuration change introduced it, quantify how many robots are exposed and how badly, and judge the real operational severity., • Own the fleet's diagnostic data capture — work with other teams for rosbag recording rules, log pipelines, telemetry coverage. IonQ’s advancements in quantum networking position the company as a leader in building the quantum internet. We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to join the Quantum System Infrastructure team at IonQ, based in our Oxford office. In this role, you will be responsible for the platform that our engineering and science teams use to build, test and deliver quantum systems to customers, contributing to the team's mission of applying DevSecOps principles to deliver reliable, secure and observable infrastructure, on‑site and in the cloud. In this position, you will build and run the infrastructure behind our quantum systems, on‑site and in the cloud, so the teams who build them can ship changes quickly and safely. You'll have the opportunity to shorten the time from a code change to a running quantum system, contributing directly to the delivery of quantum systems to our customers. As a senior member of the team, you will take on central roles in strategic projects for the Platform team, and will lead on defining, driving and implementing them. You’ll work with a wide range of partners and internal customers across IonQ's locations: physicists, lab technicians, firmware and software engineers, IT, product management and production SRE. You’ll talk to them, see where they get stuck and fix the cause. • Run and evolve the Kubernetes platform behind each quantum system, and the release process that promotes software onto it (k3s, ArgoCD, Helm), • Make CI faster and more reliable for every engineer, including our scarce hardware‑in‑the‑loop and FPGA build runners and build caches (GitHub Actions), • Make our systems observable: define dashboards and alerts as code for quantum system hardware such as lasers, cryogenics and vacuum, and move them onto IonQ's shared observability platform with our production Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) colleagues (Grafana, OpenTelemetry), • Give every engineer and physicist a ready‑to‑use remote development environment, on‑site or in the cloud, that works with our quantum system hardware, • Keep our on‑site and cloud infrastructure secure, recoverable, reproducible and reviewable as code (OpenTofu, Atmos), from secrets and access to certificates and identity, and work with IonQ's infrastructure team on shared cloud services, • Lead technical decisions and write the runbooks and guides that let other teams change the platform safely themselves To be successful, you will need hands‑on experience running Linux infrastructure in production, ideally both on-premises and in the cloud, with infrastructure as code, Kubernetes and CI/CD. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems across the whole stack, from a storage fault to a failing pipeline to a development environment that will not start, who treats observability and security as part of the job rather than an afterthought, and who can lead a piece of work from design to rollout within a fast‑moving, highly technical team. You will write mostly Python, shell and OpenTofu. Our product code is Rust and Python: your job will be to make it build and test faster rather than write it. Our platform spans our on‑site quantum systems, and many changes reach live quantum systems. Every change goes through review and automated validation before it is applied, so we value people who plan for rollback, test against the real system and write down what they learn. Experience with AI coding tools is helpful, as is an interest in quantum computing though prior experience is not required. • 5+ years in a Platform, DevOps or Site Reliability role, running Linux systems in production, • Infrastructure as code with Terraform or OpenTofu, • Running containerised workloads on Kubernetes in production, • Building and speeding up CI/CD pipelines, ideally in GitHub Actions, • Observability and security for production systems: monitoring, alerting, secrets and access control Be part of a team that’s shaping the future of quantum. We offer more than just a role, you’ll join a world class community of scientists, engineers and innovators working to unlock the full potential of quantum computing. We offer a range of benefits, • including opportunities to further your career alongside industry leaders, • a competitive salary with IonQ stock options, • an annual performance bonus, • generous annual leave, • flexible hybrid working, • private medical and dental insurance for you and your family, • and much more. Join us and be part of the future of quantum computing. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Senior Software Engineer, Non-Realtime Controllers at IonQ, Oxford, England, United Kingdom. A senior-level full time position in the Compute - Engineering team, listed under software engineering. Quantum is now, and it's built here. Oxford Ionics, now part of IonQ, is pioneering the next generation of quantum computing. Using our world-leading trapped-ion technology, we're building the most powerful, accurate and reliable quantum systems to tackle problems that today's supercomputers cannot solve. We're looking for an enthusiastic and highly technical Senior Software Engineer for our non-realtime controllers team who will thrive in our dynamic cross-disciplinary environment. You will be working closely with our skilled software engineers, our systems teams who operate the physical quantum computers, and our world-leading quantum scientists to build and operate the software that controls the hardware surrounding our quantum computers. Previous exposure to quantum systems is not required. You will own areas of the hardware control surface end to end, from the device protocol up to a service running reliably across our fleet. This is a hands-on engineering role and stays that way as you grow. A working quantum computer is far more than the ion trap and its real-time control electronics. It depends on a fleet of supporting hardware, including cryogenic compressors, vacuum pumps, power supplies, lasers, temperature controllers, wavemeters and cameras, that has to be kept observable, controllable and reliable. The timing-critical operations such as gate waveforms and ion transport run on dedicated real-time FPGA systems, while this team owns everything that does not need hard timing guarantees. These services run on general-purpose Linux hardware and must be rock-solid, because a failed compressor or an un-noticed pressure drift takes a whole machine offline. This is a hands-on engineering role, balancing delivery of your own areas with support for the teams and scientists who depend on them. • Own a group of device controllers end to end, covering API design, implementation, rollout and ongoing operational health., • Make services robust against the ways real instruments fail., • Bring devices onto our current framework, and roll the result out across the fleet without disrupting running experiments., • Improve the shared framework where a problem turns out to be common to many controllers rather than specific to one., • Work closely with the systems teams and scientists who depend on these services, and strengthen observability, health checking and alerting., • Raise the standard of the code around you through review, and bring less experienced engineers on by working alongside them. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Staff Software Engineer, Non-Realtime Controllers at IonQ, Oxford, England, United Kingdom. A lead-level full time position in the Compute - Engineering team, listed under software engineering. We're looking for an enthusiastic and highly technical Staff Software Engineer for our non-realtime controllers team who will thrive in our dynamic cross-disciplinary environment. You'd be working closely with our skilled software engineers, our systems teams who operate the physical quantum computers, and our world-leading quantum scientists to build and operate the software that controls the hardware surrounding our quantum computers. Previous exposure to quantum systems is not required. You will take on our most demanding hardware integrations and the framework work that makes every other controller better. This is a hands‑on engineering role: you would be the most experienced engineer writing controllers, not the one directing others to write them. A working quantum computer is far more than the ion trap and its real‑time control electronics. It depends on a fleet of supporting hardware, including cryogenic compressors, vacuum pumps, power supplies, lasers, temperature controllers, wavemeters and cameras, that has to be kept observable, controllable and reliable. The timing‑critical operations such as gate waveforms and ion transport run on dedicated real‑time FPGA systems, while this team owns everything that does not need hard timing guarantees. These services run on general‑purpose Linux hardware and must be rock‑solid, because a failed compressor or an un‑noticed pressure drift takes a whole machine offline. This is a hands‑on engineering role. Your influence comes from the code you ship and review, and from the problems you take off everyone else's plate. • Take on our most demanding device integrations, and do the deep diagnosis of problems that only appear against real hardware in a live lab., • Remove whole classes of failure across the fleet, rather than instances of them., • Improve the shared framework yourself, and bring the existing controllers along with each change., • Build the tooling, simulators and test infrastructure that let the whole team move faster., • Evolve how our services are deployed and operated as the fleet grows, and make the fleet observable enough that problems are found early., • Raise the bar of everyone around you through the code you write and the reviews you give. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Our client is a warehouse robotics and data company. Forward Deployed Engineer We believe that real-time data will revolutionise the logistics industry. We are building the ultimate data insights platform that provides companies with unprecedented access to their operations through autonomous data capture and digital twins. As a Forward Deployed Engineer at our client, you will sit inside the engineering organisation as an intelligent interface layer between our various engineering teams. Our client operates with a global fleet of autonomous robots, supported by a 24/7 first-line support team. The Forward Deployed Engineer sits above that layer, taking ownership of complex, ambiguous issues and driving them to resolution or to the right team. You will be one of our client's first Forward Deployed Engineers, representing our client at the highest level in customer environments and helping to define how this function operates as we scale. This is a technically demanding role for someone who is as comfortable spotting patterns across weeks of telemetry data as they are at supporting a new customer deployment on the ground. You will query data across logs, databases, and observability tooling, interpret point cloud scan data, and navigate Grafana, AWS, and a range of robotics-specific tooling to investigate issues and understand their root cause. Crucially, you will also use what you learn to improve things — identifying recurring failure modes, feeding structured insights back into the engineering teams, and raising the platform's reliability across our global fleet. You will also support new customer deployments end-to-end, bridging WMS and network integration questions with robot operational and perception configuration requirements. The right person is defined by their investigative instinct and technical curiosity, not their robotics or logistics background. Domain knowledge is built on the job through close collaboration with the engineering teams. Key Responsibilities • Cross-functional Triage & Investigation: Receive escalated issues from the first-line support team and investigate independently before routing to the relevant engineering teams. Query telemetry data, robot logs, AWS infrastructure, internal tooling and databases — including scan and point cloud data where relevant — to narrow the blast radius of a problem and form a view on root cause before pulling in specialist teams., • Observability & Monitoring: Navigate Grafana dashboards and internal tooling to monitor fleet and site health. Build or extend dashboards and alerting that improve visibility into system performance across deployed sites. Use telemetry data proactively to identify issues before they surface as customer complaints., • New Customer Deployment Support: Work within customer systems to provide white glove deployment support for our client platform end-to-end, covering WMS and ERP integration queries, network and connectivity requirements, robot operational setup, and perception feature configuration. Act as the cross-functional point of contact who can answer or route questions across the full our client system., • Intelligent Escalation & Routing: Own the escalation path from first-line support through to the right engineering team. Ensure that when specialist engineers are brought in, they receive a well-structured summary of what has already been investigated, what has been ruled out, and the most likely failure domain., • Customer Communication: Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers throughout deployment and into long-term steady-state operation. Build strong, lasting relationships with customer engineering and operations stakeholders, proactively identifying new opportunities to drive value throughout the lifecycle of an engagement. Run technical workshops and training sessions that drive lasting adoption. Produce clear, professional documentation covering deployment architectures, integration designs, and operational runbooks., • Product & Engineering Feedback: Identify recurring failure patterns across sites and translate them into structured product and engineering feedback. Contribute to internal knowledge bases and runbooks that reduce investigation time for future issues., • Tooling & Automation: Write scripts and tooling that automate repetitive investigation or deployment tasks. Contribute to reusable frameworks that improve the efficiency and consistency of the FDE function as the team grows. Required Qualifications & Experience, • 4–5+ years of professional solutions engineering or technical operations experience, with a demonstrated ability to advise customer setups and investigate and diagnose complex, multi-system problems independently., • Strong data querying skills: comfortable writing SQL, navigating time-series telemetry data, and pulling structured insight from large, noisy datasets., • Hands-on experience with observability tooling such as Grafana, including building dashboards and using metrics data to diagnose production issues., • Comfortable working in Linux environments: SSH, bash scripting, log analysis, and networking fundamentals., • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent), containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, and modern data pipeline tooling., • Proficiency in Python or an equivalent scripting language for investigation tooling, automation, and data analysis., • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling (Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenAI, or similar)., • Strong cross-functional communication skills: able to summarise a complex technical investigation clearly for both engineering teams and customer stakeholders., • High agency with an ability to navigate ambiguity. Comfortable forming and defending an independent view in complex, multi-system situations and driving issues to resolution without close direction., • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to customer sites across our client's global deployment footprint. Nice to Have, • Familiarity with robotics systems, ROS2, or point cloud / LiDAR data, or genuine curiosity and aptitude to learn quickly on the job., • Experience with robotics visualisation tooling., • WMS or ERP integration experience (SAP, Manhattan, Oracle WMS, or similar)., • Exposure to real-time messaging protocols such as Zenoh, MQTT, or gRPC., • Consulting or structured delivery experience, with familiarity with the discipline of client accountability and project-based delivery. Benefits Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles: • Performance: High standards, outstanding results,, • Impact: Big challenges, bigger results, • Commitment: All in, every time, • One team: One mission, shared success Joining our team and company isn't just about expertise; it's about embracing uncertainty with ambition. We're crafting world-changing solutions, fueled by a passion to redefine what's possible. We will look for you to help create and shape the future of logistics solutions through our products, our culture and our shared vision. You will also receive: • Private healthcare via Bupa with 24/7 medical helpline, • Life insurance, • Income protection, • Pension: 4+% employee with option to opt into salary exchange, 5% employer, • Employee Assistance Programme - mental wellbeing, financial and legal advice/support, • 25 holidays per year, • Full meals onsite in Wallingford, • Fun team events on and offsite, snacks of all kinds in the office AAP/EEO Statement Our client provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment. It prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, colour, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local laws. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training JBRP1_UKTJ

Nobody checks every box - if you are excited about this role and think you could contribute, we encourage you to apply. • You have strong programming experience in Python, and value code quality, reliability, and readability as much as performance., • You have a deep understanding of data storage and manipulation: relational systems, sharding and parallelisation, indexing, scalability., • You have experience working on cloud compute platforms and varied Linux environments., • You have worked at scale, especially on distributed/parallelised data systems., • You promote good Data Engineering and Data Management practices as a means of enabling good science – reproducibility, version‑control, schema design, lineage, single‑source of truth., • You think in terms of systems and longevity, not just one-off ETL scripts, and embrace end‑to‑end ownership from low‑level performance to user interfaces. Our Forward Deployed Engineers will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, and to expand their skillset, but will add particular value when they can match their data engineering expertise with domain knowledge relevant to a project. We would value: • Experience preparing data for ML: pre‑training, post‑training, and evaluations., • Scientific background, with experience or qualifications in genomics, proteomics, or other related fields., • Experience in bioinformatics and use of industry-standard tooling such as NextFlow., • Salary dependent on experience + travel allowance + bonus, • Enhanced holiday. Our annual leave allowance is 25 days plus 8 bank holidays and an additional 3 days between Christmas and New Year. You will also have the opportunity to purchase an additional 5 days annual leave in January and July., • Pension - Employer contribution 7.5%, minimum employee contribution 5%, • Life Assurance., • Income Protection, • Private Medical Insurance as standard for you, your partner and any dependents. Including hospital Cash Plan, • Employee discounts, • Electric car scheme, • Nursery Salary Sacrifice scheme, • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Family Planning, • Neurodiversity support including advise and assessments, • Coaching & Therapy services, • 2 days per week in Oxford office, 1 day per week in employee’s choice of Oxford or London office, 2 days per week work from any UK location., • You must have the right to work permanently in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary. In certain cases, we can consider sponsorship, and this will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis. #J-18808-Ljbffr

About IonQ: IonQ, Inc. [NYSE: IONQ] is the world’s leading quantum platform and merchant supplier - delivering integrated quantum solutions across computing, networking, sensing, and security. IonQ’s newest generation of quantum computers, the IonQ Tempo, is the latest in a line of cutting‑edge systems that have been helping customers and partners including Amazon Web Services, and AstraZeneca achieve 20x performance results and accelerate innovation in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics, cybersecurity, and defense. In 2025, the company achieved 99.99% two‑qubit gate fidelity, setting a world record in quantum computing performance. Headquartered in College Park, Maryland, IonQ has operations in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Washington, Italy, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Our quantum computing services are available through all major cloud providers, while we also meet the needs of networking and sensing customers across land, sea, air, and space. IonQ is making quantum platforms more accessible and impactful than ever before. Location: Oxford, UK Office commitment: Hybrid Quantum is now, and it's built here. Oxford Ionics, now part of IonQ, is pioneering the next generation of quantum computing. Using our world‑leading trapped‑ion technology, we're building the most powerful, accurate and reliable quantum systems to tackle problems that today's supercomputers cannot solve. We're looking for an enthusiastic and highly technical Staff Software Engineer for our non‑realtime controllers team who will thrive in our dynamic cross‑disciplinary environment. You'd be working closely with our skilled software engineers, our systems teams who operate the physical quantum computers, and our world‑leading quantum scientists to build and operate the software that controls the hardware surrounding our quantum computers. Your influence comes from the code you ship and review, and from the problems you take off everyone other's plate. To be successful, you will need deep systems engineering experience, a track record of shipping and operating reliable services, and the judgement to tell a problem worth solving structurally from one worth patching. We're looking for someone who wants to stay hands‑on in the code at this level rather than move away from it. • Expert systems engineering skills. Our controllers are written in Rust, so either solid Rust experience or deep proficiency in another systems language and the appetite to work in a Rust codebase, including async programming., • Experience building and operating networked services in production such as gRPC or REST, with a real grasp of error handling, observability and failure modes., • Experience of hardware and instrument protocols and interfaces such as SCPI, Modbus, serial and Ethernet., • A reputation as the person people bring the undiagnosable bug to, and the ability to prioritise work with a clear understanding of critical versus urgent items., • Excellent communication skills both within software and across disciplines. Be part of a team that’s shaping the future of quantum. We offer more than just a role, you’ll join a world class community of scientists, engineers and innovators working to unlock the full potential of quantum computing. • opportunities to further your career alongside industry leaders, • a competitive salary with IonQ stock options, • an annual performance bonus, • generous annual leave, • flexible hybrid working, • private medical and dental insurance for you and your family, • and much more Join us and be part of the future of quantum computing. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Our benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, matching 401(k), unlimited PTO and paid holidays, parental/adoption leave, legal insurance, and a home technology stipend. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided when a candidate receives an offer of employment. At IonQ, we believe in fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all while striving to identify and eliminate barriers. We empower employees to thrive by fostering a culture of autonomy, productivity, and respect. We are dedicated to creating an environment where individuals can feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued. We are committed to equity and justice. We welcome different voices and viewpoints and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ancestry, physical and/or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other basis protected by law. We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. The position you are applying for will require access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control and government contract restrictions. Employment with IonQ is contingent on either verifying “U.S. Person” (e.g., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum) status for export controls and government contracts work, obtaining any necessary license, and/or confirming the availability of a license exception under U.S. export controls. Please note that in the absence of confirming you are a U.S. Person for export control and government contracts work purposes, IonQ may choose not to apply for a license or decline to use a license exception (if available) for you to access export‑controlled technology that may require authorization, and similarly, you may not qualify for government contracts work that requires U.S. Persons, and IonQ may decline to proceed with your application on those bases alone. Accordingly, we will have some additional questions regarding your immigration status that will be used for export control and compliance purposes, and the answers will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law. Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Accordingly, we will have some additional questions regarding your immigration status that will be used for export control and compliance purposes, and the answers will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
