Mechanical Design Engineer Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work on complex electromechanical systems for hazardous environments? You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, precision-engineered solutions, with a focus on performance, safety, and reliability. Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer: • Lead or contribute to mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture, • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using 3D CAD, • Produce and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, and assembly instructions, • Design for manufacture using a range of techniques including sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining, • Perform stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and materials selection, • Liaise with suppliers and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, • Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Design Engineer: • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, • Proven experience in 3D CAD, • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing processes, • Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment and wearing multiple hats, • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Benefits: • 26 Days Bank holidays, • Private Health Care, • Career development opportunities and project ownership (including chartership support), • Private Pension, • Flexible working arrangements, • Life assurance This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to work on technically challenging products in a rewarding, hands-on environment.
