They’re now looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their inspection team at their facility near Uxbridge.\nImportant – Please Read Before Applying\nAll applicants must have a consistent recent 5-year work history, as BPSS security clearance is required for this role. These checks must be completed before employment can begin and can add up to 4 weeks on top of any notice period you may need to serve. If you cannot wait this long to start, please do not apply.\nThis is a hands-on inspection role where you’ll carry out product verification of precision components, ensuring they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance and efficiency across the production schedule, supporting both manufacturing and quality operations.\nMechanical Inspector Responsibilities\n * Carry out inspection and testing of components using a range of measurement tools and techniques.\n * Verify products against engineering drawings and technical documentation.\n * Generate and maintain accurate inspection documentation.\n * Use SAP to record work in progress, track batches, and log non-conformances.\n * Ensure all inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained.\n * Contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.\n * Handle and store components carefully to prevent damage and ensure traceability.\n * Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.\nMechanical Inspector Profile\n * Previous mechanical inspection experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.\n * Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.\n * Skilled in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges).\n * Strong numeracy, geometry, and attention-to-detail skills.\n * Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.\n * Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office and SAP).\n * Experience with CMMs, GD&T, or AS9102 FAIRs would be advantageous.\n * GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English; an engineering apprenticeship is preferred.\nApply now for more information
