We’re looking for an experienced Head of Health & Safety to play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding best-in-class safety practices across a diverse portfolio of development sites. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior leadership, influence decision-making at board level, and help drive a business-wide commitment to safety excellence. The Opportunity You’ll work closely with senior leadership, including board-level stakeholders, to embed a culture where Health & Safety underpins every decision. You’ll play a key role in shaping strategy, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations (including fire safety and post-Grenfell guidance), and driving continuous improvement across both operational and development environments. What You’ll Be Doing • Leading a business-wide Health & Safety programme that drives engagement, accountability, and behavioural change, • Ensuring policies and procedures are effective, accessible, and consistently applied across all sites, • Acting as the go-to expert on all H&S matters, advising on both operational and development projects, • Delivering a robust audit programme aligned to ISO 45001 standards, • Analysing incidents and implementing strategies to reduce risk and improve performance, • Managing external consultants and contractor compliance programmes, • Reporting on H&S performance and trends to senior leadership and the board, • Supporting the mobilisation of new systems, processes, and reporting frameworks What We’re Looking For • Proven experience in a senior Health & Safety role within property, construction, or the built environment, • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) essential, • Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and fire safety requirements, • Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to drive cultural change, • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Why Apply? • Join a recognised FTSE 250 organisation with strong market presence and growth ambitions, • Take ownership of a role with real influence and visibility, • Be part of a business committed to setting industry-leading Health & Safety standards, • Work within a collaborative, high-performing environment where your expertise will shape the future
