Quality Engineer / Quality Controller Working Pattern: 4-day week (Monday–Thursday, 39 hours) A well-established manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer / Quality Controller to support its quality function following recent team changes. This role would suit either an experienced Quality Engineer or a Quality Controller ready to take on more responsibility and step into Quality Engineer-level tasks. It has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability, supported by established systems and repeat customers. Role Overview The Quality Engineer / Quality Controller will report to the SHEQ Manager and work closely with inspectors, production teams, and senior management. The position combines hands-on shop floor involvement with quality systems and problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on communication and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Investigate non-conformances and carry out root cause analysis and CAPA activities, • Complete customer and internal documentation (NCRs, SCARs, and reports), • Carry out audits across processes, products, and suppliers, • Support inspection activities including dimensional checks and traceability, • Work closely with production teams to identify issues and implement preventative measures, • Monitor quality KPIs and report findings to management, • Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders on quality matters, • Support and maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) Requirements • Experience in a Quality Engineer or Quality Controller role, • Background in manufacturing such as precision engineering, fabrication, sheet metal, assembly, or similar environments, • Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality systems, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, • Confident using IT systems and quality documentation tools, • Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop Benefits & Package • Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience, • 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday), • Supportive management and training opportunities, • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (including structured Christmas shutdown) If you are a Quality Engineer, or a Quality Controller looking to step up into a more responsible role with broader exposure please apply
