Barnsley Area£19.66 per hour PAYEMonday to Friday | 07:00 16:45Long-term opportunityWe are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a busy fleet maintenance operation, overseeing the day-to-day running of a vehicle repair workshop and supporting the delivery of essential frontline services.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled vehicle maintenance professional with supervisory experience to lead a team, maintain high operational standards, and contribute to the efficient management of a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant equipment.The Role As Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will support workshop operations, manage workloads, provide technical guidance, and help ensure fleet availability meets operational demands.You will also play a key role in fleet planning, compliance, health and safety, performance monitoring, and supporting future developments, including the transition towards low-emission and electric vehicles.Key Responsibilities Supervise vehicle inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs across a varied fleetLead and support workshop technicians and apprenticesEnsure vehicles are maintained in accordance with legal, safety and operational requirementsMonitor workshop productivity, quality standards and fleet availabilitySupport MOT and HGV test preparation activitiesAssist with maintenance planning and resource allocationProduce accurate management information and operational reportsMaintain excellent health and safety standards throughout the workshopSupport continuous improvement and cost-effective fleet managementContribute to environmental and sustainability initiatives, including fleet decarbonisationLiaise with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure service requirements are metAbout You To be successful, you will have:Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, inspections and repairsPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience within a workshop environmentStrong knowledge of fleet maintenance operations and compliance requirementsLevel 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalentExperience planning workloads and managing competing prioritiesExcellent communication and organisational skillsA proactive, solution-focused approachCommitment to delivering high-quality work and customer serviceStrong understanding of health and safety proceduresFull driving licence (Category C desirable)What's on Offer? £19.66 per hour PAYEFull-time Monday to Friday roleOpportunity to supervise a skilled workshop teamVaried fleet and interesting workloadStable long-term positionOpportunity to contribute to future fleet developments including EV technologyTo apply, please submit your CV or contact Lynx Employment Services for further information.TPBN1_UKTJ
