Commercial Legal Counsel London Hybrid working SSQ is partnering with a high-growth fintech business to recruit a 2PQE+ Commercial Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to take on broad responsibility within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters spanning commercial contracts, product development, data protection and regulatory issues. The role offers significant visibility across the organisation at an exciting stage of growth, providing the opportunity to influence business decisions, build strong internal relationships and help shape the development of a growing legal function. Key Responsibilities • Draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including technology, SaaS, software development, outsourcing, marketing and strategic partnership contracts., • Partner with business teams on the launch of new products, services, promotions and operational initiatives., • Advise on data protection matters, including privacy notices, data processing agreements and wider compliance queries., • Work closely with Compliance and Risk teams on regulatory matters., • Draft and maintain customer-facing terms and conditions and related documentation., • Support the implementation and development of legal technology solutions, including contract lifecycle management and AI-assisted legal tools., • Provide advice across a range of legal matters, including intellectual property, employment, property and disputes., • Deliver practical legal training and guidance to stakeholders across the business., • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business., • Manage relationships with external legal advisers where required. Candidate Requirements • Qualified lawyer with approximately 2-5 years' PQE., • Strong academics and training from a recognised law firm., • Previous in-house experience is welcome but not essential., • Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts., • Particular experience advising on technology-related agreements, including SaaS, software development and other IT arrangements., • Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
