Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join a leading global business located near Knutsford / Northwich The role will involve design and development of components used in a range of sectors including Offshore, Oil and Gas and Subsea applications. This is a full time permanent opportunity with an industry leader in their field. Candidates will be qualified to a minimum Degree level in a relevant Mechanical engineering discipline with a demonstrable background in design and development of mechanical products. Experience with Solidworks is a must. Hours – 37 hours per week – 2 days remote available (Tuesday / Fridays at home) Key Responsibilities • Using 3D CAD software (Solidworks ) to design and develop new products from concept to completion, • Updating existing products to improve quality or to take advantage of modern manufacturing methods, • Liaise with customers to discuss new enquiries, • Represent the company during customer visits or at trade shows, • Ensure designs are validated using engineering calculations and FEA, • Produce manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies, • Peer checking of work done by colleagues, • Produce supporting documentation including assembly and test procedures, operating manuals, CE and UKCA marking etc. Ensure that all documentation and data conforms to the company’s ISO9001 quality system, • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that components are designed for manufacture, • Offer technical support to colleagues and customers Education and/or Experience: • Mechanical Engineering qualification to Degree level or equivalent experience in a related engineering design field., • Strong demonstrable background within a mechanical design role., • Excellent knowledge of Design and Manufacturing Techniques., • Experienced using Solidworks for 3D Cad Modelling, • Experience dealing with and presenting to customers is advantageous
