Multiskilled Maintenance Technician with mechanical bias sought by a recycling facility in Runcorn. This subsidiary of an international, £multibillion turnover plastics manufacturer is focused on growing the circular economy and they see innovation within PVC recycling as pivotal to their global sustainability strategy. This is a permanent role on weekly rotating shifts, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, known formally within the business as Mechanical Technician. The Role: As a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician with mechanical bias, youll be working as part of a team on the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of bearing replacements conveyor belts, motor gearbox replacements, electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with industry regulations, Health & Safety standards, and company procedures. Your duties will include: Working in a team of 4 engineers reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, with 75% of maintenance tasks being mechanical Carrying out mechanical tasks as part of a multifunctional team: granulator changes, bearing replacements conveyor belts, motor gearbox replacements Carrying out TPM tasks to ensure maximum OEE is achieved Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability and efficiency Working closely with engineers, production teams and external contractors to ensure timely resolution of issues Following strict Health & Safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with safe work practices Troubleshooting: diagnosing and repairing electrical and instrumentation faults on a variety of systems Accurately maintaining records of all electrical and instrumentation work: maintenance logs, calibration reports, work orders and spare parts stores management Ensuring all work complies with relevant legislation, including Electricity at Work Regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and company policies Working Monday to Friday on a shift pattern of 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm following probation, rotating on a weekly basis.
