Job Title: School Chef Location: Enfield Salary: £16–£18 per hour Contract: Full-time Working Hours: 7:00am–3:00pm Start Date: June 2026 About the Role Complete Classroom Services are seeking an experienced and dedicated School Chef to oversee the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals within our educational setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent culinary skills, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who is passionate about providing healthy meals that support students' wellbeing and learning. Key Responsibilities Include: • Planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements, • Ensuring all food is prepared and served to a high standard of quality and presentation, • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness within the kitchen, • Managing food stock, ordering supplies, and monitoring budgets effectively, • Supervising and supporting kitchen staff where applicable, • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and school policies, • Catering for special dietary needs, allergies, and cultural requirements, • Maintaining accurate records relating to food safety, temperature checks, and stock control, • Supporting school events and functions by providing catering services when required, • Ensuring kitchen equipment is used safely and reporting any maintenance requirements promptly The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Previous experience as a chef, cook, or catering professional, ideally within a school or educational setting, • A recognised Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above), • Knowledge of food safety regulations and allergen management, • Strong organisational and time-management skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • High standards of professionalism and personal integrity, • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, • Flexibility, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving What the School Offers: • A supportive and friendly working environment, • Opportunities for training and professional development, • A school community that values the role of the School Chef, • A varied and rewarding role with a high level of responsibility and autonomy How to Apply: Apply for role with your updated CV
