Primary Teaching Assistant – Brent Location: Brent, North West London Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Brent. This role will involve working closely on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their learning, development, and overall engagement in the classroom. You will play a key role in adapting learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs, delivering sensory-based support and targeted interventions to promote both academic progress and emotional regulation. Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will help create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment that encourages confidence, independence, and positive behaviour. You will also support the pupil in building social skills, managing transitions throughout the school day, and accessing the wider curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey, while gaining valuable experience within a supportive and collaborative school setting. The Role: • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN within a mainstream primary setting, • Deliver tailored sensory activities to support learning and emotional regulation, • Carry out targeted interventions to support academic progress, • Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials and activities, • Support the pupil’s social development and encourage positive behaviour, • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff What We’re Looking For: • Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally supporting SEN, • A patient, proactive, and caring approach, • Confidence in delivering sensory activities and targeted interventions, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development, • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) What’s on Offer: • Supportive leadership team within a friendly 2-form entry school, • Opportunities for training and professional development, • Valuable experience supporting SEN within a primary setting, • A rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day
