We’re seeking skilled, licensed engineers to join us, to be part of a high-performing team delivering essential services across aircraft disassembly, maintenance, storage, and return to service. What You’ll Do As a Licensed B1 Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring aircraft maintenance is carried out to the highest standards, in compliance with regulatory and company requirements. You’ll supervise base maintenance activities and act as certifying staff on Boeing 737NG aircraft right at the heart of our operations at Teesside International Airport. Licensed Aircraft Engineers are responsible for performing maintenance on time and by the applicable requirements, regulations, and approved standards so that all maintenance is released to service in a safe and compliant manner. The Licensed Aircraft Engineer role also includes tasks not directly related to maintenance, but crucial to the overall functioning of the organization. Responsibilities • Certify and support staff and exercises privileges in accordance with the individual authorisation document., • Supervise base maintenance activities and allocate work effectively., • Ensure completion and certification of all work required by customers to high compliance standards., • Adhere strictly to approved maintenance data and company procedures., • Interacting with Quality Auditors to ensure that the quality function can perform unhindered., • Implementation of the Quality Policy and Human Factor issues., • Working in and maintaining facilities to a high standard., • Performing maintenance strictly in accordance with approved maintenance data., • Recording maintenance in a clear, unambiguous manner., • Attending all required training, including aircraft type training when the organization requires additional type coverage., • Ensure that tooling & equipment is used following the relevant instructions and organization procedures., • Maintain tooling & equipment as directed by the DAM., • When necessary, report problems and suggest improvements to the Safety and Compliance Manager., • Maintenance in respect of the organization’s MOE & procedures to remain an up-to-date and accurate document reflective of the maintenance organization., • Maintain and uphold a Just Culture in the approved maintenance organization., • Submit internal occurrence reports to the Safety and Compliance Manager when required and ensure colleagues to do the same., • Prepare relevant work packages and formally hand them to maintenance personnel as applicable., • Review completed work packages, identify errors and/or omissions, and liaise with maintenance personnel to have appropriate corrections made to ensure the system is reflective of maintenance activities performed., • Archive electronic copies of completed work packages and send original documentation to the relevant CAMO., • Actively support and promote a positive safety learning culture through the reporting of occurrences and potential hazards and by adopting continuous improvement and human factors principles with their work. Qualifications / Requirements • UK CAA Part 66 License B1, • Supervisory experience running base or line maintenance checks., • Current type ratings on Boeing 737NG., • Knowledge of Part M, Part 145, Part 66 & Part 147., • Knowledge of CAMO., • HF Qualified., • EWIS Qualified., • SFAR88 Qualified., • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally in the English language., • Ability to work IAW-approved maintenance data. This is a senior leadership role within our aircraft maintenance department, as the nominated person for safety, compliance, monitoring and information security. The successful candidate will also play a key role in developing and embedding an Integrated Management System (IMS) across our wider operational areas, including aircraft recycling, fixed base operations and ground handling. Key Responsibilities UK & EASA Part-145 – Nominated Person (CMM) · Act as UK CAA & EASA Part-145 Nominated Person (Form 4 Holder) · Ensure WASL activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and internal procedures. · Establish and maintain an independent compliance monitoring and audit system. · Develop, implement, and continuously improve the audit plan. · Monitor and manage corrective actions arising from audit findings. · Liaise regularly with the Accountable Manager regarding compliance effectiveness. · Oversee amendments to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and ensure regulatory alignment. · Submit MOE revisions to the competent authority for approval. · Manage the Approved Supplier List and assess subcontractor compliance. · Issue, renew, and cancel Part-145 certifying and support staff authorisations. · Monitor contracted maintenance organisations for compliance. · Ensure regulatory notification of maintenance outside approved locations. · Feed audit findings into recurrent training programmes. · Establish and manage staff training and continuation training programmes and records. UK & EASA Part 145 – Nominated person – Safety & Information Security · Lead and manage the Safety Management System (SMS). · Oversee safety reporting and occurrence investigation processes. · Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation planning. · Monitor implementation of safety action plans. · Provide safety performance reports to the Safety Review Board. · Maintain safety management documentation. · Deliver safety advice and promote best practice. · Embed just culture, human factors, and continuous improvement principles. · Integrate safety learning into recurrent training programmes. Wider Compliance & Safety Oversight · Support development of an Integrated Management System (IMS) across WASL operations. · Provide compliance and safety oversight for aircraft recycling, FBO, and ground handling activities. · Undertake additional duties as directed by the Accountable Manager About You We are looking for a confident and experienced aviation professional who can lead from the front and influence safety culture at all levels of the organisation. Essential Requirements · Eligible to hold UK & EASA Part-145 Nominated Person (Form 4) roles (SM & SMM, IS) · Valid or previously held Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) or Aeronautical Engineering Degree. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or continuing airworthiness. · Strong technical knowledge relevant to aircraft types listed within the WASL MOE. · Comprehensive knowledge of: o Part-145 regulations and associated requirements o Maintenance Organisation Expositions (MOE) o Compliance monitoring and quality systems o ICAO, UK CAA and EASA safety management requirements · Formal training in auditing and compliance monitoring techniques. · Human Factors (HF), Fuel Tank Safety (FTS), and EWIS training. · Strong understanding of: o Risk management o Safety investigations and root cause methodologies o Safety culture and just culture principles · Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills. · Strong written and verbal English communication skills. · Effective leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement abilities. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring daily engagement with the main contractor throughout construction. You will act as the on-site owner’s representative, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while maintaining full operational continuity in an active aviation environment.
