As a full-time soldier, entry-level Carpenter and Joiner in the British Army, youll: • Plan carpentry and joinery tasks from sketches and apply them in field, • Learn to use and maintain workshop machinery, • Prepare timber for use, manufacture joints, use adhesives, produce windows, door frames and fitments, • Carry out general construction work including first-fix timber frames and second-fix joinery fitments, • Construct scaffolding, interpret scaffold terms and erect access scaffold and install ladders, • Install partitions, floors, roofing, timber-framed buildings, formwork and shoring, • Be between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months, • Have a GCSE Grade A-C/9-5 or Scottish National 5 in Maths, English Language and one other subject, • Be able to pass a basic fitness test.
