MEAA

Assistant General Manager (AGM)

Assistant General Manager — Progression to General Manager MEAA London MEAA is looking for an ambitious, experienced Assistant General Manager to join our London restaurant with a clear objective: develop into the General Manager role within approximately 3–6 months. This is not a conventional AGM position. We are looking for someone capable of becoming the person ultimately responsible for one of our busiest restaurants. MEAA London is a high-volume operation serving approximately 4,000 covers per week, with around 150 covers and generating approximately £100,000 in weekly revenue. It combines the pace and complexity of a major-volume restaurant with the standards, attention to detail and personal service expected from a premium hospitality business. The opportunity You will initially work alongside the existing management team, learning the MEAA operation, culture and standards while progressively taking responsibility for the restaurant. The 3–6 month development period will cover the full GM remit, including: * Leading a large FOH and management team through high-volume services * Maintaining consistently high standards across up to 4,000 weekly covers * Taking ownership of guest experience and handling issues confidently * Recruitment, onboarding, training and development * Building a strong management and supervisory team beneath you * Rotas, labour deployment and productivity * Sales performance and commercial decision-making * Wage and operating cost control * Restaurant P&L understanding and accountability * Driving average spend and identifying revenue opportunities * Maintaining service, presentation, cleanliness and brand standards * Using guest feedback and operational data to improve performance * Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen leadership * Developing regular customers and ensuring our best guests are recognised * Leading pre-shifts, management meetings and performance reviews * Taking increasing responsibility for the entire operation until ready to step into the GM position Who we’re looking for We are not looking for someone who simply wants their next AGM job. We’re looking for somebody who wants to run a substantial restaurant and can demonstrate that they have the potential to do so. You will probably already be a strong AGM, Deputy GM or experienced senior restaurant manager within a high-volume operation and feel ready for the next step. You should be comfortable operating in an environment doing £100k+ per week and understand that delivering 4,000 covers requires organisation, pace and strong management rather than simply being visible on the restaurant floor. You should be: * A strong and confident leader * Commercially aware * Highly organised * Excellent with guests * Comfortable managing and developing people * Calm during extremely busy services * Able to hold people accountable without creating a negative culture * Obsessed with consistency and detail * Comfortable working with numbers and KPIs * Able to identify problems before they become problems * Hands-on when necessary, without becoming trapped in individual sections * Ambitious enough to want responsibility for the whole business Experience in a high-volume premium restaurant, busy independent group or quality multi-site restaurant business would be particularly relevant. What success looks like This role comes with a genuine progression plan. During your first months you will be expected to demonstrate that you can progressively take ownership of: People → Service → Operations → Commercial Performance → The Entire Restaurant The intention is that, once you have demonstrated that you can consistently operate the restaurant to the required standard, you will progress into the General Manager position. This is therefore an opportunity for someone who is already close to GM level but wants the opportunity, support and scale to make that step. About MEAA MEAA is built around excellent food, atmosphere and genuinely warm hospitality. We want high standards without stiff or scripted service. Our managers are expected to know their teams, know their customers and create an environment where people enjoy working as much as customers enjoy visiting. As MEAA grows, there will also be opportunities beyond individual restaurant management for the strongest people within the business. Location: London Position: Assistant General Manager Progression: General Manager Expected development period: approximately 3–6 months Restaurant volume: approximately 4,000 covers per week To apply: Send your CV together with a short introduction explaining the size and type of operation you currently manage and why you believe you’re ready to progress into a GM role.

Another might be considering selling their rental property. A landlord might need help with one property today and full management of their portfolio tomorrow. We want someone who sees the opportunity in all of it. You'll be responsible for: • Carrying out residential sales valuations and lettings appraisals, • Winning new sales instructions, • Winning new landlord instructions and growing our managed portfolio, • Generating your own valuation and appraisal opportunities, • Following up leads and turning conversations into appointments, • Building relationships with homeowners, landlords, investors and local contacts, • Identifying opportunities within our existing database and applicant base, • Developing your own network of people who can introduce you to future business, • Keeping a close eye on properties coming to market and landlords entering or leaving the rental market, • Advising clients honestly on pricing, presentation, marketing and strategy, • Identifying when a sales client could become a lettings client — and vice versa, • Working with landlords to understand whether self-management, let-only or full management is right for them, • Building relationships that generate repeat and referral business, • Working closely with a small team to turn new instructions into successful transactions, • Helping us grow our presence across Enfield and North London WE'RE LOOKING FOR A HUNTER We don't need someone who needs to be told what to do every morning. We're looking for someone who sees a quiet afternoon and thinks: "Right. Who can I speak to?" You might spot a house that's been on the market with another agent for months. You might notice a landlord advertising a property themselves. You might have a conversation with a buyer who tells you they're thinking of selling. You might reconnect with someone you valued six months ago who wasn't ready then. That's the job. Spot the opportunity. Start the conversation. Build the relationship. Win the business. We're looking for someone who: • Is naturally competitive and motivated by results, • Loves winning business, • Is confident asking for the instruction, • Doesn't take rejection personally, • Is persistent without being pushy, • Can build genuine relationships with people, • Is commercially minded, • Is organised enough to manage a growing pipeline, • Has the confidence to pick up the phone and make things happen, • Understands that follow-up is where a lot of business is won, • Wants to build a reputation in the local property market, • Is just as comfortable talking to a £500k homeowner as a landlord with a large portfolio, • Wants to earn more by producing more EXPERIENCE You may already be a Property Valuer, Lister, Senior Negotiator or experienced Sales or Lettings Negotiator. Or you may be a good negotiator who knows you're capable of taking the next step. We're interested in ability, attitude and results, not just job titles. You need to understand residential property and be confident dealing with clients. Sales experience is important. Valuation experience would be a big advantage. A full UK driving licence is required. WHY BELVOIR ENFIELD? We're not a massive corporate estate agency where you'll be one person in a large machine. We're a small team with big ambitions, and what you do will genuinely make a difference You'll have the freedom to develop your own business, your own relationships and your own reputation. We're part of the Belvoir and TPFG franchise network, but we're very much a local business. We care about our clients, we care about property and we're interested in doing things differently. Our focus is Enfield and North London, including Winchmore Hill, Southgate, Palmers Green and Hadley Wood, with a growing interest in the higher-value residential market. We're not trying to be the biggest agent. We want to be the agent people remember, recommend and want to work with. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? £28,000 basic salary Uncapped commission with OTE of £45,000+ And importantly, there's no ceiling on your earnings. If you bring in more business, we want you to earn more. You'll also get: • A genuine opportunity to make your mark in a growing business, • A role with real autonomy, • Sales AND lettings — so plenty of opportunity to generate income, • Strong marketing support, • The backing of an established brand, • The opportunity to build your own local network and reputation, • A role where your results are noticed and rewarded SO, ARE YOU A GO-GETTER?
