The founding engineer builds this way himself, day to day, and the person joining needs to work the same way. This is not a company where AI tooling is something people are being encouraged to try. It is already how the software gets written. The team is five people day to day, fully remote, headquartered in the South West. There is one engineer in the business at the moment and you would be the second. This is a genuine full stack role with a front end lean. Not a front end specialist role, and equally not an AI research or ML engineering role. The platform is still evolving and the person who joins needs to own features end to end rather than waiting on someone else for the other half. You would be working directly with the founding engineer, contributing to architecture rather than picking up tickets, and shaping how the platform is built while it is still being figured out. You do not need to have built agentic workflows from scratch, although it is a strong plus if you have. What you do need is to have genuinely worked in an agentic way yourself. You'll bring your core trade expertise while working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver a high-quality service. As our Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across campus buildings Diagnosing faults and carry out repairs across a wide variety of areas including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems focussing on your area of expertise Working across trade disciplines to support the wider team and maintain service continuity Using CAFM (Planon) and BMS systems to log work and monitor building performance Collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and university staff to deliver efficient maintenance services Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards What We're Looking For A recognised qualification or strong experience in a core trade (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Heating, or similar) Someone keen to train, develop and grow with us Experience in building services, facilities management, or maintenance environments Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good understanding of health & safety regulations A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills It would be great if you had: Experience working in a university, healthcare, or large-site environment Familiarity with CAFM systems (e.g. Planon) or Building Management Systems (BMS) Multi-skilled experience across additional trades Experience supervising contractors or supporting small projects If you're dependable, take pride in your work, and enjoy keeping spaces clean and welcoming, we'd love to hear from you.
