ACS International School Cobham is seeking two enthusiastic Sports Graduate Assistants to join our Sport & PE Department from August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a passion for sport who are considering a future career in education, coaching, or teaching. Our extensive sports programme brings together the very best of international and independent school sport. Accommodation and full board are provided on-site within our boarding house as part of this position. ACS Cobham has exceptional sporting facilities including: all weather pitches, 400m athletics track, 5 hole golf course, 6 tennis courts, sports arenas, 25m swimming pool, fitness suite, cross country trail, dance studio, esports, all set in 128 acres. Volley and basketball are two of our core sports. Key Responsibilities • Coaching or assisting with sports teams across all seasons (fall, winter, and spring), • Providing cover for PE lessons when required, • Supporting PE lessons as an assistant teacher, • Issuing, managing, and maintaining sports team uniforms and inventory, • Collecting EpiPens and medical equipment for away fixtures, • Preparing travel lists and first aid kits for away games, • Chaperoning students for away fixtures and European tournaments as required, • Supporting Sports Department administration (including Schoology and parent communication), • Assisting with the hosting of sports tournaments and events, • Maintaining sports equipment to a high standard, • Undertaking Resident Tutor duties within the boarding houses as required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Essential: • Recently obtained degree in PE, Sport, or a related discipline, • A genuine passion for sport and physical activity, • Experience of coaching or working with young people, • Active participation in sport or fitness activities, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, • ICT literate, • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with a wide range of people, • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, • Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to use initiative, • Flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated approach, • Clear understanding of professional boundaries when working with young people, • Reliable, hardworking, and committed. Desirable: • Coaching qualification in at least one of our Tier 2 sports (Basketball, Football, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball), • First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training). Contract Details • One-year fixed-term contract (31 hours per week), plus Resident Tutor responsibilities, • Possibility of extension to a second year for candidates who excel and wish to pursue a PGCE or teaching career, • Working hours: Monday to Friday during term time, with evenings and weekends in the boarding houses as required.
