The Senior Quantitative Engineers in Global Risk design and oversee reusable, scalable software components that enable data and analytical capabilities across the organization. They collaborate with modelers, risk managers, and technologists to create future‑state data and analytics solutions. • Seek opportunities for consistent improvement in quality, efficiency, and processes, • Partner effectively with senior stakeholders within GRA, Front Line Units, Technology, Audit and Compliance, • Provide leadership and oversight to less experienced team members, • Apply quantitative methods to develop capabilities that meet line‑of‑business, risk management and regulatory requirements, • Understand financial data: schemas, flow, size, data issues, data controls, etc., • Build performant big data pipelines, • Use programming skills and knowledge of software development lifecycle principles to deliver high quality code for model and testing processes, • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Bank to understand modelling and testing business processes and requirements, • Think outside the box of current industry standards to develop innovative approaches, • Maintain and continuously enhance capabilities over time to respond to changing portfolios, economic conditions and emerging risks, • Source and evaluate data required for modelling and testing, • Design, develop and implement models and tests, • Produce clear, concise and repeatable technical documentation of models and tests for internal and regulatory purposes, • Several years of relevant work experience in software engineering for quantitative finance or related industries, • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent work experience), • Strong programming skills in Python and a solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles, • Experience in modular code, unit testing, regression testing, and distributed computing (e.g., MapReduce, Spark DataFrames), • Proven track record of leading and executing enterprise‑wide initiatives, • Strong communicator able to explain complex methodologies to senior stakeholders, auditors and regulators, • Quantitative methods: regression, classification, clustering, machine learning, statistics, • Large‑scale data sets (structured or unstructured), • Building user‑facing applications over large data volumes (React, Angular, JavaScript), • Process improvements and automation, • High intellectual curiosity and ability to challenge the status quo, • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills, • Organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, • Private healthcare and annual health screen (optional partner coverage), • Competitive pension plan, life assurance and group income protection, • Paid maternity leave (26 weeks) and paternity leave (16 weeks) with additional family leave arrangements, • Back‑up childcare (20 days) and adult care (20 days) per annum, • Flex fund for benefits, flexibility to select a range of benefits (travel insurance, critical illness, cycle to work, etc.), • Emotional wellbeing helpline, virtual GP services and Peppy App for health support, • Access to Wellhub wellness apps, gyms and exercise classes, • Charity donation matching program, • Opportunities for volunteering and community engagement Bank of America is an equal opportunities employer.
