Our leading global consulting, construction engineering client is seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors on a permanent basis to support Water projects This is an exciting time to join the consultancies new Project, Programme, PMO and Commercial Management Capability in the United Kingdom which is undergoing a transformative phase. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a growing team, delivering strategic programmes for water companies and the Environment Agency—primarily in the Midlands, with consultancy opportunities in the North West and beyond. Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead, you’ll lead the commercial delivery of major capital programmes, applying your expertise in NEC3/4 contracts, procurement, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll drive value, efficiency, and compliance across all phases of the project lifecycle—from feasibility to final account. You’ll also play a key role in supporting senior leadership on strategic bids, contributing commercial insight and shaping proposals. Responsibilities • Administer NEC3/4 ECC contracts (Options A, C & E) on the client side, • Oversee budget control, payment valuations, and cost forecasting, • Maintain accurate commercial records and resolve contractual issues, • Collaborate with PMs on payment certification and defined cost determination, • Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning, • Prepare and evaluate tender documentation, • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, • Manage construction contracts and ensure compliance, • Control costs, negotiate variations, and resolve claims, • Lead final account preparation and post-project evaluation, • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape compelling, client-focused bids, • Provide commercial input and cost intelligence to strengthen proposal strategy, • Maintain a robust database of lessons learned, bid outcomes, and client insights, • Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial and bidding processes Qualifications • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, • Full RICS membership or advanced progress on APC pathway, • Extensive experience within Commercial / Quantity Surveying roles, • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management, • NEC3/4 contract expertise (Options A, C, E essential), • Experience with ECI/ESI in design & build programmes, • Line management experience and ability to mentor junior members of the team Additional Information • 37.5 hour working week, • Car allowance, • Up to 10% performance bonus, • 26 days holiday, increasing by 1 day for 1 year served and up to 28 after year 3, • Chartership support, • Chance to work across a range of sectors, • Leadership development programmes
