Engineering Operations Manager (Maintenance) Location: CFC2, Dordon Salary: Competitive + benefits We’re hiring an Engineering Operations Manager (Maintenance) to lead maintenance operations at our highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Dordon. This role is all about maximising uptime, driving reliability, and leading a skilled team to deliver world-class engineering support. The Role You’ll oversee planned and preventative maintenance across our advanced material handling equipment (MHE) and facilities, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. From scheduling shutdowns and peak season preparation to analysing downtime data and implementing improvements, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our operation moving. With a team of over 30 engineers and support staff reporting to you, you’ll provide clear leadership, coaching, and development, while also managing budgets, spare parts inventory, and compliance with strict health & safety standards. You’ll collaborate closely with project and operations teams to support new equipment, ensuring it’s maintainable from day one. What We’re Looking For • Recognised engineering qualification and strong electro-mechanical knowledge., • Solid background in engineering or maintenance management, • At least 3 years of leadership experience, with proven people development skills., • Analytical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement., • Excellent communication skills and confidence in decision-making., • Approachable, motivational leader with strong decision-making skills., • Project management and budget control experience. Desirable Qualifications and Experience: • NEBOSH certification, • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, • Previous experience in automated or logistics environments, including cranes or conveyor systems., • Experience within Ocado or a similar organization.
