American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albany, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, • 13-week contract, • Works in a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) caring for high-acuity medical and surgical patients, • Patient population includes those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications, • Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients, • Required to work every other weekend, • Rotating holiday coverage required, • Proficiency with advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage, titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-line, CVP, EVD, orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols, • Experience with HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and OxyPendent required, • Epic EMR experience required, • Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience are well-suited for this unit, • Navy blue scrubs required, • A competency test must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — ensure your email address is current, • Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, • Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington, • Travel pairs are not allowed for this position\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NY State RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or ICU experience required, • BLS and ACLS certifications required, must be from AHA or RQI, • Epic EMR experience required, • US Social Security Number required, • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months, • Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
