MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The Adult Nurse Practitioner provides healthcare for clients admitted in residential treatment, performing history and physicals, medical evaluations, and, when necessary, medical assessments. The ANP assesses and stabilizes medical conditions that are impacted by the individual’s history of substance use. The ANP is responsible for managing ancillary withdrawal, managing addiction medications, providing consumer education and making referrals for specialty care according to medical necessity. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Examine and evaluates all scheduled clients., 2. Provide healthcare according to generally accepted standards for care., 3. Evaluate clients for medical appropriateness for admission into the substance use disorder treatment, 4. Treat ancillary withdrawal and prescribe addiction medications where appropriate., 5.
