Position Summary: The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for onsite troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing electrical issues at customer facilities.Our client base is 100% retail. Customers include Walmart, Target, Lowes, Aldi, Tractor Supply, Starbucks, Panera, etc. Hours and Travel: • Standard hours are Monday-Friday | 7:00am-3:30pm, • Hours may vary depending on customer schedule, location, and urgency of work needed, • Rotating on call for weekends are mandatory. In most areas, that is 1 weekend every 5 weeks. We pay $50 just to keep your phone on and answer promptly. All emergency calls are at the applicable OT rate and paid from portal to portal., • Due to the fact T&J does not have a local shop in most locals we work in, all locals have agreed to the below travel policy:, • The tech is responsible for UP TO 1 hour of travel time to their first job of the day, and UP TO 1 hour home from their last call of the day., • This simulates the employee having to drive to their jobsite if on a construction job. For example, if the techs first call is 15 minutes from home, that 15-minute commute is made off the clock. If the first call is 1 hour 15 minutes from their home, after the first hour of driving time, the tech becomes on the clock. If a tech makes a stop at the supply house on their way to their first call, their time starts at that point in time Responsibilities and Duties: • Tech must be properly dressed and mannered to be customer facing., • T&J provides all company clothing to be worn, but it is the employees responsibility to wear it at all times and notify his/her manager if more clothing is needed. The Electrical Service Technician responsibilities and duties include: Primary Duties: • Consist mainly of lighting services, replacing lamps, ballasts, drivers, troubleshooting lighting control systems, and emergency lighting., • There will also be general electrical troubleshooting as well as small new circuitry installations., • The technician will be given a van, company fuel card, credit card, phone and iPad. All work orders are dispatched electronically vis the phone/iPad the afternoon before. The tech is expected to quickly view those work orders, so they are aware of their next days schedule., • The service tech will report via phone to their manager here in Albany. The service manager is always available to assist the tech with any all questions and concerns., • The vehicle is permitted for work use ONLY unless cleared by T&J Service Manager ahead of time. All vehicles are GPS monitored not only for locating, but for monitoring safe driving habits., • The Service Tech is expected to take their vehicle home each night. Qualifications: Required Skills and Abilities: • Must have a clean driving record, • Candidates must be willing to drive up to 2 hours (one way) for service calls, • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills as your supervisor will be remote, in our main office, • Ability to work independently and with others, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Experience • Experience working in a similar role is preferred, • Knowledge of the Facility Services industry is preferred Education/Licensure/Certifications • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, • Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods sitting and driving, • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times Other Requirements: • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, • Candidates must pass a drug test and background check prior to starting work Compensation and Benefits: • Competitive wages and benefits
