American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/29/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the CVPICU (Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) of a hospital, • Care for pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions including ASD, VSD, AV canal defects, valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, post-cardiac surgery, and cardiac transplants, • Required to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on hospital requirements, • Night shifts: 4x12 hours, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, • Works every other weekend (Sat/Sun), • Unit has 19 beds with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or higher, • Uses Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring, • EPIC EMR is used for charting, • Provide complex critical care to pediatric patients undergoing advanced cardiac procedures, • May be assigned to float to different units based on patient needs and skill set, • Navy blue scrubs required for this position, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • All holidays are rotated based on hospital scheduling needs\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or compact RN license required, • BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred, • Minimum of 2 years PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of documented cardiac critical care experience, • Competency with BIPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care required, • Experience with post-cardiac surgery care required, • Proficiency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry required, • EPIC EMR experience required or must be acquired prior to start, • Previous RWJBH employees must have at least a 1-year break before returning for a travel role, • First-time travelers not accepted\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
