About the Role of Care Coordinator for AMC's Cancer Institute The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is seeking a full time Care Coordinator which will be responsible for providing clerical support to the hospital's Cancer Institute. Shift: • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10am–6pm, • Saturday: 8am–4pmSkills Required:, • Minimum of 2 years veterinary/human health clerical experience, • Minimum of 2 years customer service in a professional setting, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Well organized and the ability to multitask, • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, clients, and veterinarian practices, • Maintain confidently and handle sensitive information with accuracy according to policiesSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:, • Serve as primary liaison between The Cancer Institute at AMC and Referral Veterinarians (rDVM) as well as internal and external clients, • Responsible for client check in and check out, which includes (but not limited to) patient registration, admission, and discharge, • Effectively triage phone calls from AMC staff, rDVMs, and clients utilizing excellent decision making and problem solving skills to determine the appropriate response to meet client, rDVM, and pet needs, • Schedule appointments with clients and manage appointment reminders, no shows, and cancellations, • Provide efficient cash collection/payment planning while ensuring compliance with established guidelines and policies, • Obtain all necessary referral documentation, medical records, and pre-registration paperwork, • Provide concierge service to clients and referrals by greeting clients, helping them navigate the hospital, and directing them to appropriate areas, • Track and ensure that patient updates and all forms of client communication have been successfully distributed or transmitted to the rDVM and client, • Update clients as requested by veterinary staff with daily status reports on inpatient pets.
